I really wanted commentary on this issue, but instead we got a meh prose story that doesn't really feed into the main book.

Because in spite of Grimlock being a belligerent jerk to Optimus and thinking him a coward, his old leader still treats him with respect and kindness even at his lowest and most wretched point.

>>86134713
It was never about power or station for Optimus. And that's why he's forever the best.

I don't think I've ever seen a version of Starscream that screamed so much during his screentime.

The best part is that he was extremely loyal the whole way, making his betrayal all the sweeter.

I've never read any of the comics for either of these franchises

Yes, but start from the last thread. This book is amazing.

General Flag was fantastic in this book.

Fun fact, they considered using Jem and the Holograms in this series, but realized anything that made Jem special seemed to kinda pale in comparison to the Joes and Transformers.

>>86135908
I'm glad they brought back Buzzer. If he can come back, anyone can.

>>86135832
And the Oktober Guard survived too!

This series is absolute insanity. I'm very interested because the art style and the complete give-no-fucks storytelling are amazing, but as somebody who knows next to nothing about Transformers or GI Joe, trying to keep track of the hundreds of characters here is next to impossible.
>>
>>86135722
In fairness Moondancer is best pony.
>>
>>86135918
>>86135815
They exchanged a few lines of dialogue in Issue 10. That means they're in love by fiction storytelling logic.
>>
>>86136815
>trying to keep track of the hundreds of characters here is next to impossible.

Don't worry about it, just remember that only a handful from each franchise matter. Since the cartoons existed mainly to sell toys both shows would periodically write off characters to include a new batch of toys
>>
>>86136926
well both Barber and Scioli are basically operating off the idea that offpanel so many things are happening that they could fill up whole comics on their own(like the gag about Shipwreck having his own fictional one shot about becoming a space pirate in >>86135284) so clearly some great romance occurred offpanel between them, not to mention the vague amount of time that occurs between Megatron being defeated and the epilogue occurring
>>
>>86135402
It's hard to take Storm Shadow, his demise, and everything he did seriously when we know this happened to him:

>>86135224
>>
>>86135284
>Shipwreck: Space Pirate
>on sale July 2025!
chalk another one up on the 'reasons to live' chart.
>>
This might be the most amazing comic to ever be produced by the hands of man but I never made it past the 5th page.

This art... This art is such unbelievable, awful shit. This garbage is worse than the mini-comics that used to come with all these toys in the 80's.
>>
>>86138025
Holy fuck you're a pleb. I bet you hate Jack Kirby's art too.
>>
Thanks, OP. Now I got to get my hands on every issue I missed and then wait for a collection.

This whole series was insanely amazing. It's all the best parts of Scioli's abilities turned to eleven. Truly a unique treat that everyone should read.
>>
>>86138480
>It's all the best parts of Scioli's abilities turned to eleven

Amazing to think that just before this he really thought about quitting comics. Godland was kind of a flop and got canceled earlier than he and Casey had planned and no publisher would take American Barbarian. Weirder still he drew both of those while having a day job. He just used all of his free time after work drawing
>>
>>86138480
Its three volumes are all ready out now and even include the FCBD newspaper special with Billy and a smorgasbord of bonus art.
>>
>>86139142
yeah but there's still rumors floating about there being another comic to be released in the future, that an people assume that IDW is going to be doing some sort of fancy 1 volume edition in the future as well
>>
>>86138555
Scioli really is a gem. I heard of the Super Powers thing he was working on, but I've been under a rock and don't know if it's out yet. I'm hoping it's, at the very least, a fraction of the craziness and dense storytelling we see here.

The Super Powers where Scioli works on is not the same as the Super Powers miniseries (due out in November).
>>
>>86138160

Comparing this fucking drek to Kirby? Really?
>>
Thanks, OP.
>>
Tom Scioli is bizarro Geoff Johns.
