Ok, lately I've been catching up with: the animated series (Wakfu and Dofus plus specials, Wakfu Mini and Maxi-mini), the oavs, movies, the wakfu manga and some comic.

This franchise sure is huge, but the fact that it's still barely humanly possible to vision everything of it makes my autistic completionism quite strong.

At the moment I just need to read the other mangas and the rest of the comics.
Would I miss anything after that extremely big amount of stuff, except for the games and hours of sleep?

Also, It would be advised to watch the Dofus series even earlier, to know the characters better, but it's not a big deal if you don't want to: Dofus really differs very much from Wakfu, and it's for the most a humorous slice of life.

You can. Wanting to see his family again is one thing, going on a genocidal rampage over it is another. Nox was a great villain, but this meme that killing millions of people so he can see his family again, when it's his own fault they left him, is justified, needs to die. Nox had no idea his plan would work, and Nox himself stated he didn't care about all the people he has killed even if his plan didn't work.

There is only a tiny shred of goodness left in Nox, the part of him that genuinely loves his family. The rest is evil and madness.

Not shitting on the character, he's actually one of my favorite villains in general, and when Wakfu was first airring, I regarded him as one of the best villains in any recent media at the time.

Yeah, but he's the concept artist behind pretty much any important character. He posted one of the designs he made while researching for Feca's definitive appearance in Krosmaga.
In one of his lastest replies on twitter he said he keeps drawing random stuff and the Lilotte drawing was actually pretty old but he hadn't got the time to scan it until now, so he's probably too busy with work to show anything, and most of his work is confidential.

And here we see that he also drew the concept art for animations in the Dofus film, so I guess he's probably doing the same for the new Wakfu season, along with making the Krosmaga god designs, maybe even still working on the playable Ouginak designs too.

So can the Eliacube actually talk? I was playing the demo of Islands of Wakfu on Xbox, you get gifted an Eliacube at the beginning that gives you tips and shit. I'm not sure if it's a game mechanic or part of canon though

The problem is that Nox was too erratic to come to that conclusion. The closest thing he did was bring back some very powerful warriors who were just mindless drones doing his bidding. Plus between the knowledge and the need of a Primordial Dofus (which Ogrest has all of) he can't go that route. Added to the fact you need an item that links that person to the real world (Jahash knitted underwear in the movie). Nox didn't have that option.

Unfortunately I think Ankama kinda shot themselves in the foot a little. As they have to fill in the blanks from having him in the Wakfu series. While relatively important connection from the Dofus era to the Wakfu era it gets a little messy.

Joris when we first meet him in Wakfu is this sort of mysterious ambassador for the king of Bonta. We only learn about as much as they show in the show initially. What we learn otherwise is very limited by the following Dofus tv show, comics and movie.

If I had to guess I imagine he has the potential of great magical abilities given to him by his parents. However, I feel that with Kerubim's influence he'd rather play more in a way that emulates his foster father. The rogue like adventurer who does what is necessary and right. While playing to his own rules initially.

Given that he didn't really get to truly meet his Dad and what he knows of his Mom from first hand experience isn't something he was proud of. In fact, it was something he outright fought against.

I imagine that the Dofus eggs would grant him all of his potential, but the apparent loss of the Dofus eggs obviously leads him to being a shadow of his potential.

People have to remember the classes aren't races, but religions. They have their own commandments and doctrines, the whole thing. Worshiping a god nets you unique powers but it also changes your appearance. According to old lore Xelors need bandages to teleport, which is a pretty basic Xelor skill, otherwise they become dust from the deterioration it ensues.
It's one of the things that made Major Cagliari extra salty when OVA Harebourg was introduced, since his skin was supposed to be deteriorated by teleportation. Even then, the more adepts have always been depicted with more characteristics of their class, no matter what God they follow.
And yes, Nox was a non practicing Xelor and was unable to do any kind of magic. Then he became able and powerful, and he got the Xelor attire.
Another example of a non practicing character is Alibert, who is an Enutrof follower but doesn't really follow him that much, so he doesn't look that old even though he's the same age as Ruel.

I backed the Blu Ray and only watched the first season up until now thanks to a dead PS3. Well finally after upgrading my PC and adding a blu ray drive to it, I finally got around to finishing season 2. It was a bit of a drag with their 80% side quest episodes, but holy fuck those last 4 episodes made up for it. Finally started watching the special episodes as well and did not realize they outsourced one of their episodes to Ghibli animators. Are the pandas, cats, and dog people also just religious? Do their bodies change that much based off gods?

For as much as I'd like to see covered the years going from s2 to the oavs, I wouldn't like the manga to become dispersive or unrealistically full of events.
I mean, there's just so much stuff you can do in five years, expecially if you consider that s1 and s2 happend in a timespan of two years.

Except for the dog people, all those are humans who worship Pandawa or Ecaflip. The more faithful you are to your god the more like them you become. You could be a normal human, but if you chose to worship Ecaflip before puberty you would become a cat person. Another thing is the god's followers will also change if the god does too. Osamodas didn't have horns, devil tails, and blue skin in the dofus era, but they do in the later wakfu era. That means at some point inbetween those eras that the god Osamodas changed appearance.

You are correct about the cats and pandas, but not about the dogs.
Like the pigmen or other furries, they have just independently evolved enough resulting in them being as intelligent as humans.
At least that's what I remember reading somewhere I don't recall.

The Ouginaks do have a god they share their name with and has some sort of rivalry with Ecaflip. Very little is known about them/their god and they also never appear in the wakfu era which could mean they were wiped out in Ogrests Chaos. Though, a couple thread backs it seems like they might be a new class for one of the games.

Nah, it was just a style choice by the studio. Non of the Osa had tails in the show. Same with the more human sized animal characters like Julie.

Not exactly, while most classes become like their god, some of them become like an image of him.
An example of this is Enutrof, the God is a giant gold dragon but his followers are old people.

In Osamodas's case, during Ogrest's Chaos the followers's afinity to animals grew so they could survive, and so they got a Gobgob to capture animals instead of having predetermined ones, and that's what made them into blue demons.

Although maybe Osamodas died during the Chaos and he changed appearance, his design has been changing nonstop so it's hard to say.

Ouginaks are going to become playable characters for both the Dofus and Wakfu MMOs near the end of this year.
They probably got separated from the rest of the World during Ogrest's Chaos in their own island which is why they haven't appeared until now, probably, them being wiped out was just a theory.

The Eliacube was made by Qilby using Orgonax's heart, which is what started the war and made the Eliatropes flee. The other Eliacubes are copies and don't use any mechasm heart, so they're not as powerful.

I just finished the special episodes. That was a little disappointing after loving the main series. Power levels went absolutely DBZ insane and just random mindless dragons and crazy orgres being the antagonist gave me Pokemon 2000 flashbacks. Odd not very well explained ties to events I was led to believe were hundreds of years ago to bring all the characters together rather than just leaving them be was also kinda baffling.

I hope the new season brings back some of the sanity because I don't think I like Wakfu being this nuts. At least not without any proper build up.
