Total honesty, I actually just like the setting. I want to see if they can do a mythical wild west justice, either comedy-wise or just using the the huge treasure trove of tropes and legends effectively. It's a lot of untapped source material for cartoons. The very existence of a jackalope gives me hope. As mainstream of a mythical creature as it is, a surprisingly large number of people aren't familiar with it.

From the concept trailer and what little they've written of the characters and the town itself, it seems like they have an interesting little mythology going so far. But executing it well is what will be important, not just having it. Obviously the humor and characters will probably take center stage, but they can still give tips of the hat to the legends they might be lampooning or referencing, if they do at all.

It's a western-focused show with an American myth angle that timed itself smack-dab in the middle of a pushback against western culture and History Channel-level bullshit.
