There's no reason to believe Lapis' poofing and mirror shoving didn't occur mere moments before the Corrupting Light hit. It would've served a double purpose for the gem carrying her to be running back to the galaxy warp to present her back at Homeworld and to gtfo of earth.

so I started with SU a week ago and now I think Lapis has the prettiest design but also the most interesting relationship with Lapis but that is mostly because other gems have kinda distant or outright fucked up relationships, specially Garnet who now seems so obssesed with herself, kinda narcissistic given that she is basically in love with herself, it seems more balanced with Steven and Connie, eventhough Connie seems kinda be obssesed as well but Steven keeps her balanced.

Pearls and Stevens releationship is also fucked up in a lot of ways.

I kinda didn't like how they forced the whole abusive relationship with Jasper though, it felt so out of character and seemed like the writers were forcing their own personal issues into the story and characters, specially when Lapis said that he enjoyed it, seemed like a writer was justifying to herself her past bad decisions by blaming herself.

Overall I think like the message of the series is how you should be more tolerant with others who are different but they created characters who have so many issues, it feels like it is partly because of the writers projecting their own mental problems into the characters. Not only the gems but characters like Sadie and Lars, whom I still don'T know what they even exist, not only that, they even get their own episodes, both are kinda shit people and Sadie seems like a self-insert character and yet she is in love with Lars who treats her like shit.

I feel like this is kinda teenage girl version of hey Arnold! in terms of exploring different relationships and emotions, while hey Arnold! was more grounded, this is like, hey people are fucked up, they all have obvious mental problems and their relationships are also fucked up, they are all either obssesed or narcissistic and that is ok.

So if I took a gem, and shaved off about 1/8 of an inch off of every edge of their normal cut, would the resulting gem end up as a smaller version of the normal gem?
