A classic one. Like DC, a lot of Marvel's golden age heroes got loosely associated silver/early-bronze age reboots like The Vision or the Human Torch.

The original Ghost Rider was a western hero that was a ghost riding a horse. When thinking how to modernize this concept, they replaced the horse with a bike and gave the rider iconography associated with motorcyclists instead of cowboys. The flaming head was just a touch of cool.

So it's just another instance of taking an old golden age hero and modernizing it, but then having some stuff get lost in translation in the process.
