Does anyone have a copy of Garth Ennis' The Demon paperback that was recently released? Does it use glossy paper like a regular trade or is it using the newspaper stock type of paper that Deathstroke and New Teen Titans uses?

Yeah, it's European collections and yes we did usually buy it at book fairs.

IMO the paper quality was definitely much better than the type you seen in Archie digests on average so I don't think they overcharged us that much.

I disagree. I annually buy Absolute editions as blind buys at my LCS summer sale, and I'm always rewarded. Got Kingdom Come and All-Star Superman that way, and the large format art is powerful.

How many folks here get on a series kick and for a time will just forget all other trades exist until you've gotten every last book of the "_______" run.

Picked up these fairly recently. Avatar was fantastic I enjoyed it even more now then I did as a kid. The steven universe comics were fun and had some decent art in them, I wouldn't recommend if you're someone who enjoys the lore more than the characters. Anyway, I'm thinking of picking up the Scott Pilgrim boxset next (I haven't read it before) and possibly the legend of korra Blu-rays.

For me personally, I didn't have a job til 2012 or so, so I only have a few trades in my collection older than that, and other than a signed copy of Absolute New Frontier I got back in 2007 or so, by saving up my lunch money and allowance for a month and a half, they were usually gifts that were few and far between.

I bought that same statue off of Amiami for like 6500 Yen (which, at the exchange rate was like, less than $60 at the time), and then it was clearanced for a long time at like, 5000 Yen because it wasn't selling.

Even the highly-sought ones like Yuri and Milla don't go for what you paid for Asbel if you watch import sites or even eBay usually.

The newer ones are starting to get more expensive, (Like for instances Ludger and Julius from Xillia 2 are about $100-ish but the price of everything in Japan is going up because of the back and forth of the Yen).

But that's not a $190 figure.

Well, I preordered it.

Also, Japanese sites tend to give a pretty big discount, and then the shrink the discount right around and after release. Originally, Asbel was only like, 6800 Yen, or something like that. He sat around in stock for months, and even dropped further below that before he finally sold out. The discounts change depending on fast they want to move it.

Also, I don't know where you're seeing $200+ for Ludger. He's still in stock at Amiami for just over 10k Yen, with is barely $100 USD.

Still making my way through these Silver age Green Lantern omnis and Morrison Batman books. Really fucking liking this Batman stuff, never read a Batman book I've fully enjoyed before now.

Probably gonna take pics of my shelves when Metropolis gets in. It's pretty pleb tier and unorganized, though.

Yes and no, the version I have is out of print but I believe it's had a newer edition published. I think it's missing Land of the Soviets and Congo though so it's not actually 'complete' anymore.

at the end of the silver age, marvel was miles ahead of DC just because they managed to create some kind of continuity and stayed relatively grounded, not inventing new super powers every other week like they did at DC.

I just finished it for the first time and it kind of fucked me up. It's beyond fucking bizarre but also so relatable, the ending confuses me but I'm thinking it's totally intentional. It's just one those books that's left me with a lot of feelings, those of which I'm not sure of.

One of my favorite comics ever, hands down - I bought the original Epic tpb just so I could compare the differences between the two. I reread the series every year and I always seem to get something new out of it - it's like I can see my own growth as an adult reflected through the story.

It's one of the few comics that actually deserves an Absolute edition from DC. It's so sad that it faded into obscurity, DeMatteis can never seem to get a break now.

Anon no one wants to buy Naruto off me, SAO and Ao no Exorcist are my bros', Synder Batman was a mistake and I got Forever with the others in a box set for dirt cheap.

I like Bakuman, the main characters are the ones I'm reading it for and not the females that are devoid of personality.

And apart from Sonic Chronicles I do enjoy his other games. I have a bunch of his PS3 and Wii outings as well, it's just not in the pics I posted.
