Welcome back Anons! Time for the first of many events and their tie-ins!
>tfw i was new to comics and asked for recs
>told to read secret wars
>bought this
fuck that was a disappointing buy. I don't think I have regretted or learned more from that experience.
Okay, Bendis? You've written litterally EVERY appearance of Jessica Jones at this point. You know for a fact that she's never met Danny.
Why would he listen to HER over Luke?
>>86031921
If DC had made an event with this title, Marvel would've sued because it could be confused for their Secret Wars.
But Marvel did it themselves, so lawsuits aren't a problem, ironically missing WHY that is an issue. The issue being literally what happened to you.
>>86032006
Annoy someone else, will you?
>Bendis talking shit about Mr. Fear
>So Brubaker makes Mr. Fear ruin the waifu Bendis made his Daredevil
So if you ever cared enough to find out why White Nick Fury isn't running SHIELD in modern Marvel?
This is why. You're welcome.
Remember, not only does Nick Fury know who Iron Fist is, he also basically knows everything worth knowing, and he'd definitely know Danny's secret identity.
Of course, maybe he's trying to be nice.
>>86031921
They lied to you, the original Secret Wars is nothing special. Hickman's Secret Wars is an unengaging mess.
>>86032006
>>86032029
>>86032038
What drives a stupid fucking faggot to ruin a storytime, I wonder?
By the way, to my knowledge, this is the first instance of Luke being REALLY hard to do surgery on ever comes up. It's an obvious weakness when you think about it, and it happens to Luke a few times, but here's where it starts.
>>86032147
He's been doing this almost every thread since Alias. I have no idea why.
Remember, people say Bendis knows a lot about police stuff.
>>86032225
Go trip and break your own neck, will you
The premise of this is the kind of autism I'd expect from past his prime Byrne.
>>86031837
I remember this. It's another case of good art not salvaging terrible writing!I bought the first issue of this, disliked it, and went on to only read Bendis in scans from here on out.
>"I think the Punisher just got pinched."
I think it's a coincidence, but the Punisher actually DOES get arrested a little after this. Early in Brubaker's run, after Bendis ends his Daredevil by having Matt get arrested for being Daredevil (I'm sure he had actual crimes besides being a vigilantee, enough to be put in the same prison as the Kingpin and Bullseye, but I forget them), the Punisher finds out, snaps the neck of an abusive pimp in front of a cop, and surrenders just to help Matt out.
>>86031949
Because having your new girlfriend make fun of your old friend's clothes always works out.
>wanting to jump in at the start
>doing own storytime
hope i finish in time. I wanna experience BendisVengers with /co/
>>86032032
This would be a great page, in a Cyclops book.
>>86032303
That's basically the story of Bendis's work at Marvel. If they stopped giving him the popular titles and best artists, he'd still be a nobody I figure.
>>86031837
What took you so long?
>>86032328
I'm only doing his New Avengers (maybe an arc of Mighty Avengers if it ties into New Avengers). If you want to experience the rest, you can storytime it yourself in a week or two.
>>86032097
>This is why. You're welcome.
I thought it was because he was KING OF THE MOON MEN or somesuch bullshit.
Nick Fury has been getting ousted from being head of SHIELD since at least the 80s.
>>86032350
If he was a nobody he wouldn't be getting high profile work you stupid faggot
>>86032127
Danny hasn't had a secret identity since he died, I think.
>>86032363
Let's just say some things happened, and I didn't have access to my computer.
>>86031949
This is one of the last times I liked, REALLY LIKED, Luke Cage. This and I believelater on when he's talking about raising the black population of Latveria by 200%
>>86032377
No, that's why he's not doing anything PERIOD. As a result of what happens in this, he isn't in charge of SHIELD, meaning Maria Hill is in his place, fucking everything up.
>>86032189
Bendis dialogue is really offputting for reasons I find hard to describe. Part of it, at least, is his inability to write more that a single voice, but I think there's more to it than that.
>>86032384
He's writing books that basically sell themselves, and is given artists that make his stories readable despite his shit.
>>86032211
>Super tuchas
Maybe it's that his single character voice is "irreverent Jew" like he was writing for Seinfeld, but even that had more than just Jerry and George.
>>86032396
No, he definitely has one. There are people who don't know.
He just is shit at protecting it. Like, he makes Matt Murdock look like Bruce Wayne.
>>86032374
good with that. Speaking of sick Luke Cage he eventually homages Journey to the Center of the Vision in Avengers.
>>86032317
it's strange to see like SHIELD brutality. when was this published yearwise? i feel like bendis might be commenting on something
>>86032490
2004.
>>86032457
>books that basically sell themselves
he did make Avengers A-List.
>"They're terrorists."
>published in 2004-2005
This story will have the tact of a kick to the dick, I can already feel it.
>>86032435
>Scorpion suit
Hey, remember how that used to not come off and that was most of his motivation for doing crime, in addition to the process of being made into being the Scorpion driving him insane?
>>86032537
>Bendis Internet Defense Force
Cancer.
If you'e ever played Marvel Ultimate Alliance, this should start to feel familiar.
>>86032557
took you this long?
also it's fucking Latveria of course it's Doom!
>>86032438
He has a problem where a lot of people finish eachother's sentences. Try that in real life once in a while, even with family members of close friends. See how often you can pull it off. I don't mean pulling some Joseph Joestar shit, just at least try and guess, in your head, what they'll say next. But Bendis lets almost EVERYONE seem to do that.
>>86032587
>"It's happening again."
>They have the information."
>"Irrefutable evidence in their hands as to who their enemy is, and they are going to sit on it and do nothing."
Oh, I know it was going to be obvious symbolism and metaphors, but now it's getting comical.
Mods, do your fucking job and ban this cunt.
>>86032577
>Hey, remember how that used to not come off and that was most of his motivation for doing crime, in addition to the process of being made into being the Scorpion driving him insane?
There's one person who doesn't!
And after this we get a handful of pure text pages that we can skip, which is just the interrogation of Jack O'Lantern that was mentioned earlier.
>>86032653
my reaction shouldn't be for Nick to be more specific.
oh wait there's gonna be flash backs and Luke getting hurt is related huh
that the "is he bad or not" guy is fucking Dr Doom makes this hilarious. (sorry latveria not recognizing that sovereignty)
>>86032747
To be fair, Doom isn't running Latveria. It's this "Lucia Von Barda" woman.
>>86032738
Of the "bonus pages" the only ones worth posting are the ones with the "Secret War" costume designs, because they're kinda cool and poorly used in the story itself.
>>86032738
> a handful of pure text pages that we can skip
i've considered trying to storytime classic Avengers alongside those text oral history things Bendis did but don't wanna put in the effort
>>86032812
I'll check if I have them as we get to them. I'll be summarizing them anyway, because some of them (particularly the last one) is important.
This issue was a few months before Avengers Dissassembled, to give a time frame.
I admit, it's been a while since I read Bendis's Daredevil, but I don't remember his office being this busy back then.
>"WHAT'S MY NAME?"
I have no idea where Bendis got the idea that Luke does this, and Parker ended up doing it better anyway.
>>86032802
>>86032839
Like I think this is supposed to be Steve not getting what would make someone would like commit war crimes (gas or whatever) but it comes across as he can't understand insane ideology or complicated points.
So if you've ever wanted to see how Bendis writes an adult Peter Parker, here you are...
>>86032942
Okay, Fury has ONE eye. Why would he turn so much, unless it's to TELL Peter "I see you, kid."
>>86032942
9/10 it's something a large black man said in one of his 'alone time' daddy movies.
Okay, this page was supposed to come before >>86033009
>>86032982
We've already got that asshole posting pictures, Anon. Try not to post more, or we're going to not be able to fit the Pulse tie-ins.
>>86033009
I'm pretty sure Nick Fury got Peter's parents killed, so I don't get how he has any kind of favor owing from Peter.
>"Is that Luke Cage behind us?"
Bendis has changed Luke's design so much, even Peter doesn't recognie him!
And in case you ever wanted to see what a drunk Wolverine looks and acts like.
>>86033083
Ah, back when Quake looked exactly like Hackers era Angelina Jolie.
>>86033105
it's a bit right? Bendis ain't goofing this bad right?
>>86033105
I don't like this wolverine.
So is this really the first time Logan's met Peter Parker, instead of Spider-Man? Being two of Marvel's most popular characters, I feel like this would've happened before in the 20+ years they've been around.
>>86033105
Wolverine's Healing Factor is supposed to metabolize alcohol faster than he can get drunk.
>>86033116
I was going to wait for the reveal, but yeah.
>>86033134
Lies, he's been a heavy drinkin' canuck for decades, he talks to spirits, the eighty proof kind.
>>86033143
>Cap in disguise as a soldier
Christ Fury just send them in capes
>>86033120
>>86033134
I like to think Logan is stone cold sober, but knows that, if Fury needed him enough to ASK for his help instead of his garden variety manipulation, he can fuck around as much as he wants, annoying anyone he wants, and he won't get kicked off.
Basically, it's Logan being an asshole because he knows he can get away with it. In my head, at least.
>>86033129
>So is this really the first time Logan's met Peter Parker, instead of Spider-Man?
Nope.
Spider-Man/Wolverine had a MGN in the 80s by Jim Owlsley. Logan harassed a once again quit being Spider-Man Peter over a spy he was tracking down for the Daily Bugle.
It's always been in mainline continuity, because it killed Ned Leeds, a long time Spider-Man supporting cast member/Hobgoblin.
Bendis doesn't read comic books.
>>86033166
Where are the bright clean streets? Babooshka there shouldnt be scrounging in the streets or fearing her protectors.
And here's the page >>86032417 mentioned.
I'll admit, the Muslim girls I met didn't wear burkas, but are they normally as form-fitting as Nat's is?
>>86033204
Is Latveria a Muslim country??
>>86033174
Oh right, X-Anon storytimed that a little while ago. I forgot about that.
Stupid question, why are you calling him "Jim Owlsley", instead of what he's more well known as, "Christopher Priest"?
>>86033227
I don't know if Latveria has a state religion. I feel like it wouldn't, since Doom wouldn't want people to worship anything above him, but that would depend on how Latveria/Doom is being written that particular week.
So what's up with the dude from Reddit in this thread?
>>86033229
Because a) He wasn't Priest yet, b) people who know will know, and c) I doubt they 'fix' the credits on more modern reprints.
>>86033154
Credit where it's due, Cap isn't in disguise. One of the text bits that I mentioned says he's basically there as a distraction. Anyone looking for foreign agents would immediately look at Steve "Captain America" Rogers, and not notice the others. At least, that's what Bendis's Nick Fury is assuming.
>>86032537
Squirrel Girl got an award for art.
>>86033296
OVERTHROW DOOM?
HA! IMPOSSIBLE!
Good fucking god, look at the bulge Cap's packing right there. Someone took time and effort to draw that thing.
>>86033296
The idea that Latveria wouldn't have a flagging system for Wolverine is laughable.
>>86033320
Sadly Anon, the fact that Lucia Von Barda is the one in charge of Latveria means that someone already managed to overthrow him.
>>86032553
>he shoved A-list characters onto the Avengers
ftfy
>>86033353
>>86033320
puppet regime
also if i'm reading this right we're getting the story of Nick's coup that put her in place
>>86033353
Anon, I know you're American and might not understand it, but a Prime Minister and a Monarch can and usually do co-exist.
Lucia von Barda doesn't mean Doom isn't in charge, it means he has a proxy to handle things/murder when he doesn't have enough milk for his cereal some morning.
And the "pure text" pages this issue are actually SHIELD files on the heroes Fury recruited, as well as the interview where Fury recruited Quake. That's one of the interesting bits, so I'll sum it up.
She was arrested for shoplifting, Fury filled her in on her earthquake powers, how she got them (this was back when she got her powers from being Hyde's kid, and not from being an Inhuman, although they take the time to say she is totally not a mutant, "so she's not an X-Men character, okay Fox?). Seriously, the degrees to which they make clear she's not an X-Men character would make me laugh if they weren't so pathetic.
>>86033440
this is way before that meme though. i think bendis really liked his idea of connecting them to random marvel baddies
so wait USA installed a PM instead of Doom, Lucia, and now they're overthrowing her? that seems like such an unnecessary step to get through to get to Doom. was she around in marvel before? it seems like such a random thing.
>>86033502
She was invented just for this event.
The reason I keep saying Doom isn't in charge of Latveria anymore is because basically every mention of him I can find in context of this event is basically "he was deposed, they put her in charge."
>"Happy Anniversary."
Somewhere, Joe Quesada is super triggered, and has no idea why.
>>86033531
All these Spider-Man villains who built their own shit, now in Latverian Knock-off form.
>>86032097
Isn't the reason because Samuel L. Jackson is Nick Fury in the movies ?
>>86033556
it's a mix of a couple of things.
>>86033531
man so weird. so many questions for bendis.
>>86033569
>so many questions for bendis.
I'm trying not to spoil, partially because it takes forever for Bendis to actually answer most of the questions, even if the characters know most of the answers.
>>86033551
The idea is supposed to be that she's funding every tech villain, since there's no reason they can afford the upkeep they'd need to keep their tech going.
Like I said, the kind of autism that led Byrne to decide that Sandman and Osborn were brothers.
You just KNOW the reason Cap is wearing his suit is because otherwise nobody would be able to recognize which blonde white guy was Danny, and which blonde white guy was Cap.
As far as I know, post-OMD, I don't think Matt knows who Peter is. Peter TRIED to unmask, but Matt told him not to, so his identity would be safe.
Despite the fact that his mask literally doesn't hide his identity from the blind man, but you know how it goes.
>>86033585
oh Bendis. new avengers spoilers?I don't think we ever found out who paid Electro for the Raft breakout in New Avengers
>>86033601
it's not a horrible idea or you could do something fun with it. but i don't think bendis will/is
it's kinda trying to replace the old "They're communists" backgrounds for a bunch of villains I think as well
>>86033638
lol
>Scumbag Spider-Man
>Breaks into your house, and drinks your milk straight from the carton
>>86033655
goddammit fury
>>86033649
This is before Avengers Disassembled, so New Avengers hasn't happened yet, and may not have even been planned yet.
Also, we DO end up finding out who hired him... it just makes no god damned sense.
>>86033681
oh we did! cool.was it skrulls
Does telling Spider-Man to shut up EVER work? If anything, he seems to take it as a challenge.
>>86033638
that Matt actually knows everyone's secret identity, like he can't help himself, is a super cool idea.
And now, an unrelated Diamondback from the one Luke killed.
Or the one Cap ended up with.
Also, wasn't the Serpent Society created out of this kind of autism, just better written?
>>86033745
Doesn't have have a perfect memory for smells and crap?
Notice that Bendis's adult Peter has a noticable lack of jewish slang.
>"And now I smell like the Rocketeer."
Cap, you don't have a secret identity. People can find you relatively easily.
>"I go to painstaking efforts to keep my identity a secret."
AND THEN CIVIL WAR HAPPENED
>>86033862
Didn't he go public with his identity in Alias?
>"My radar must be off."
Bendis has no idea that Matt's "radar sense" isn't a real radar.
>>86033885
He was still secret during that first Alias arc. He went public between then and now.
>>86033899
>Bendis not knowing shit
You dont fuckin say.
Can you guess who all of these characters are?
The text files this time was just what happened when Steve Rogers called SHIELD to say he was attacked, and found out what happened to Luke.
>>86033862
Really, walking around with the shield openly like that is just begging for a supervillain to take a shot at him.
>>86033998
If they didn't know what Steve looked like before, they do NOW.
This is a new Diamondback right? I thought the old one was Cap's on/off girlfriend
>>86033862
>Cap living at the mansion
ahh simpler times
>>86034066
Yep, unrelated Diamondback.
>>86033953
I'm like 90% sure the Wizard is rich, and funds the various Frightful Fours.
There are like 68 different Crimson Dynamos,
The Grim Reaper so frequently dies that I can't imagine anyone funding him.
The Shocker is capable of building his gear IN PRISON. WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS.
Really there's only a few of the villains actually chosen, like, say Crossfire back there, that would actually fit this whole "mercenaries for DOOM" idea.
>>86034033
has morrison x-men happened?
>>86033953
i recognize like 8? and i don't think it's actually Hobgoblin or whoever, that's clearly not Otto
>"I REALLY can't handle any more Osborns."
>>86034108
>fury saying patooties
i'm usually not one to bitch about Bendis dialog/character voices, but god.
>>86034057
Really, Logan, you know you deserve whatever it is they're looking to give you.
>"Heck, call the Secret Defenders!"
>It's a "Bendis shit talks teams he doesn't like" issue
>Spider-Man
>talking shit about OTHER PEOPLE always talking
>"You are so unbelievably annoying."
>"Yeah? You should see me in my black costume!"
This was before Back In Black, where "Peter in Black Costume" means bad shit.
>The Fantastic Four are the big heroes
You can tell it's an old comic, right here.
>>86034164
to be fair his follow up is a joke about how they probably said stuff but he talked over them
I'm surprised nobody's making the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance jokes. This is basically the first part of the game.
>Cap's shield and the Human Torch's fireballs may not get through, but my BILLY CLUB will manage!
So yeah, she's seen better days.
Do you think Reed's neck going all super long and stretchy gets itchy?
>>86034307
she's yelling about this but i'm just like Bitch, Fury has been doing this since WW2. I dunno if this makes top 50 worst things he's done.
>>86034325
She's just angry that she isn't getting shirtless Fury like the big villains do.
>>86034279
I haven't played that game in ages, boss.
One more issue in this "event"!
And this issue's "bonus pages" were just files on who the various minor villains.
Skipping the Nick Fury and Daisy personnel files, and we're FINALLY being introduced to who Daisy is.
So, stupid question. Did we ever see Ben's Aunt Petunia on-panel? I feel like someone would've missed the point and tried that by now.
So many pages, and nothing freaking happening.
>>86034426
>we're FINALLY being introduced to who Daisy is.
Oh, we know who she is already. https://youtu.be/URsqTsMfNqY?t=55s
>>86034456
>Did we ever see Ben's Aunt Petunia on-panel?
Yes. She's young and hot.
I've been reading classic Marvel comics (O'Neil Doctor Strange at the moment), and this entire bit could've been ONE page back then.
Okay, look at these top two panels. That happened a few times during that second interview I mentioned.
>>86034540
In the future, the modern comics age will be retroactively named the Bendis Age, because he was the Decompression King.
>>86034539
Shouldn't she be old, if she's BEN'S aunt?
>>86034456
http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Petunia_Rosenbaum_(Earth-616)
Oh come on, why are you mad? Your school gets blown up every other Wednesday, I'm sure you guys can take care of it by now.
Also, this was in the Austen X-Men days, if memory serves.
Five issues in, and we're only NOW getting the story about what happened in the flashbacks!
>>86034604
that's the Whedon team
>>86034593
Oh, so Ben's uncle is a cradle robber. THAT explains why his aunt is young.
>>86034638
>12 presidents
fucking goddamn
yeah they put him on the moon cause he's old as fuck
>>86034651
He's been around fighting fuckers since the Nazis. Unlike Cap, he made it to the modern day the old fashioned way.
>>86034632
Yeah, I checked again. I have no idea why I thought Austen's run was everything from Morrison to House of M, I guess I'm more tired than I thought.
This is an important part of this story. Nick is explicitly NOT supported by the government. He did this all on his own, even after the president outright said "Don't do anything, we've got shit under control."
>>86034581
Aunt by Marriage.
Also, of course it was Byrne who revealed her, and of course she was a student that fell in love with an old man, because Byrne.
http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/grimmpet.htm
I'm starting to think that Gwen banging Norman might have been something Byrne had planned but never was allowed to write in.
why would you bring spidey? he's so explicitly anti killing
>>86034699
the whole premise for this is so stupid, the Fantastic Four went around fucking about in Lativa for years when Doom was in charge without explicit government permission and nobody cared
>>86034700
>Also, of course it was Byrne who revealed her, and of course she was a student that fell in love with an old man, because Byrne.
I really should've seen that coming.
>>86034632
Which was concurrent with Austen. Sorta. When Cassaday actually managed to actually finish an issue.
I think 12 issues took like 3 years.
Was Von Bardas modeled after anybody? Like how Quake was based on Angelina Jolie from Hackers?
>>86034726
It's even stupider when you get the full story.
>>86034670
>he made it to the modern day the old fashioned way.
INIFINTY SERUM- KEEPS YOU ALIVE TO FIGHT THAT BASTARD HEINRICH STRUCKER NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE THE SATAN CLAW EATS!
When fucking EMMA FROST thinks you're doing extreme shit, you know you're doing some shady shit.
And if you want to see the shit she used to get up to, look up the Firestar mini.
>It is loosely based on classified operations told to Bendis by an anonymous high-ranking officer in the United States Intelligence Community during Bendis' childhood
LMAO
>manipulates Logan to do shady shit
>mind controls him after the fact
>tells him that he mind controlled him
No prize for guessing what happens here.
Seriously, anyone with half a brain should've seen THIS coming.
>>86034772
Emma's much more subtle, destroying a castle? so tacky.
also did like civilians die? am i misreading the panel. like this is fucked up but
Psychic shields, stopping psychics from solving the plot since the 60's!
>>86034790
>say what you will about WW2 but at least when you killed someone they stayed dead
Where do to even start with how wrong, and Fury knows it's wrong!
>>86034717
He's against killing, but he's good at beating up bad guys. And when you plan to brainwash him anyway, it doesn't matter HOW anti-killing you are.
>>86034790
>WW2 when you killed someone, they stayed dead.
Except for Cap, Red Skull, Bucky, Strucker, Zemo, Masterman, Hitler, Himmler, and I'm sure I'm missing a bunch more.
>>86034838
why even brainwash! Black Widow and Wolverine got this
And now for Fury to goprepare for the Skrull Invasion, already in progress
So now you know why Nick Fury was in hiding from pre-Civil War on, as >>86034856 mentioned.
His next appearance is in Secret Warriors, I believe.
>>86034838
How many times do you need to get double crossed and/or find out Nick Fury is really an LMD before your reaction to seeing him is attempted murder?
>>86034864
I mean it was kept under wraps for a year right? just bs some shit about bad guys attacking
>>86034866
Shit like that is why the Original Sin retcon that every Nick Fury that has been seen in decades was an LMD sound believable.
>>86034847
Because why not fuck over as many people as possible when you can, in an utterly pointless Latverian coup that will be negated in like 3 weeks when Doom comes back, because Doom always comes back, he's got as many Doombots as Fury has LMDs.
>>86034885
>a war criminal now
>now
girl.....
>>86034885
Making all the Howling Commandos still in SHIELD a bunch of LMDs? Fair play. WW2 was 60 years ago and the serum idea is starting to stretch thin.
Them being LMDs because Moon Man Nick Fury was apparently stopping alien invasions except for all the alien invasions he didn't bother stopping? Stupid, stupid, stupid.
And that's Secret War. The text at the end of this issue was Maria Hill meeting with the unnamed President.
Turns out that the reason they told Nick Fury not to do anything? They knew about what Lucia Von Barda was doing all along, and was going to put legal pressure on her to make Latveria do what they want.
And now back to The Pulse, which had the ONLY tie-in to that event. Remember, Jessica was around for the first two issues and fucked off?
>>86034922
yeah like Galactus! wtf
>>86034923
>They knew about what Lucia Von Barda was doing all along, and was going to put legal pressure on her to make Latveria do what they want.
Well yeah, that's like half the point of doing a coup! To control the power of a country. Fury was like "this won't end well and Doom'll be in the cabinet or something"
>>86034955
Yeah, the president was SUPER sure that they could control Lucia Von Barda. That's why I had to make sure that Doom wasn't in charge of Latveria. Because if Doom WAS in charge, the President is a massive idiot.
>>86034894
Well yeah, usually Fury is good enough that people can't prove he's a war criminal, for the stuff that people would be willing to convict him for.
>>86034975
Well, if he was supposed to be analogous to Dubya....
Still, Doom always comes back. Doom is the Herpes of dictatorships.
Even if the US did have a puppet in charge, Doom would just kill them when he got back.
So, is this what we should do for the events and tie-ins? Post the entire event first, and then post the tie-in?
>"It's Luke Cage."
>"What does that mean?"
>"Luke Cage the superhero guy?"
>>86035017
Seriously, even Dubya can't be that stupid.
>>86035021
Seems sensible in this case, at least, given that this story is apparently a week later since non-flashback bits were all in one night.
Good art all around tonight. This Pulse story is gonna just make me wish we were reading Astro City instead, tho.

Honestly, if it's a question of Bendis vs. Busiek, that's not a hard choice.
>Luke has a massive poster of him and Danny
>>86035051
>Luke Cage is thirty
Well, that fucks with my impression of his age, especially as compared to Danny.
>>86035127
Remember Immortal Iron Fist then had Danny celebrate his 35th birthday.
>>86035106
That showed up before, back in Alias.
It's, I think, an anti-drug poster.
You see it when Jessica wakes up in Luke's apartment and steals his last yellow shirt.
>>86035150
I know, I think I mentioned it then. I still love that it's a thing.
So yeah, we're getting another version of this scene here.
Wait, that was supposed to be a smack? I thought Cap KICKED Nick.
From here on? New content.
... Why does Jessica have Ben Urich's home phone number?
>>86035337
Falling asleep.
Will finish tomorrow.
G;night anon.
>>86035371
I'm thinking of just finishing up this issue and leaving the rest of the series for tomorrow afternoon.
>>86035367
From when JJJ hired her to find Spider-Man, maybe, and Urich was her contact?
Or through their mutual employment at the Pulse?
>>86035389
>Or through their mutual employment at the Pulse?
Yep, I'm tired. Finishing up with this issue.
Oh... shit.
And what happened to Luke, Anons?
Let's find out in the morning! Same time as usual! See you then!

What happened was that Bendis wrote Diamondback into the script, but editors told him Diamondback was a good guy, so he created an entirely new Diamondback.
>>86032076
I'm pretty sure that was a different Mr. Fear. There's like 3 or 4 of them.
>>86033353
He wasn't overthrown, he was in Hell at the time. He eventually escaped.
>>86033713
Of course it was. I'm still not sure why they wanted to break out Sauron though.
>>86034440
KANEDAAAA
>>86033601
It a cool idea. Just not something you can really play with in an established shared universe.

>The first issue was published in April 2004, and though intended originally as a bimonthly publication, it faced long delays. It was completed with issue five's publication in December 2005.
Marvel really needs to get their slow artists more lead time on shit like this.
20 months to print 5 issues? Appalling.
