Had a random idea come to me while thinking about clocks and ressurection.

Let's say that having one's clock broken and dying simultaneously always conspires to a permanent death. If the clock is in another timeline or universe, the laws of circumstantial simultaneity govern come into effect.

>Throughout the intermissions in Act 6, snippets of activity involving Terezi and the meteor crew foreshadow the nature of these laws
>Terezi gives a set of instructions that lead John interfere with the timeline and implement these laws
>It turns out simply making Homestuck panels occur seperately from each other is enough to decouple events
>John fucking about with witness results in Slick's clock breaking occurring before we see Terezi bust out the secret room with Gamzee; pages are literally renumbered and shown in different orders
>Scratch repairs the clock before Terezi and Vriska's showdown
>Terezi stabs Vriska

>Sollux gives life to send meteor to Green Sun, same as in Cascade but with tied-up Gamzee
>Vriska then pops back to life, looks like there's going to be a nasty confrontation
>Vriska then remembers Bec Noir and flies off to fight him
>Rather than Vriska magically fixing problems of Meteor Crew, instead Gamzee is simply captured and thus can't manipulate everyone into fucking up
>Vriska turns up to everyone's surprise when meteor reaches session, having gone on 3 years of semi-meaningless solo badass adventures
>None of this is ever directly shown, merely teased relentlessly
>John warps back to session in time for Vriska to deliver her fancy kill LE plan, gleaned from her wanderings

Ultimately the end of the comic plays out very similarly. The difference is making Vriska's life retcon feel more mechanically justified, removing her improbable role on the Meteor, and ramping up her bullshit sue factor in a way that thematically fits. Maybe Vriska fought Lord English alone several times in the Void?!?!?!?!!?!?
