I was going to do some X-Factor tonight but Marlel pissed me off, so here, have some Remender and Murphy.
Enjoy. Or don't, I care not.
Sorry, had to go take a piss.
Jesus, are you going to let me post or not, 4chan?
cmon X-Men vs Dracula
Fina-fucking-lly
>>85946626
No, I won't give into their monster bullshit!* Fuck you, Marvel!*even though I've liked the little I've read of it
>>85946394
Nice choice, man.
I read the last issue yesterday. I loved it throughout.
>>85947140
I did the same
>>85947140
It starts off rough but it gets better as it goes along.
>>85947140
Same here, I know when this was first storytimed here people were shitting on it but I've enjoyed every issue.
But man does a part of me wish Remender stayed on at Marvel.
>>85947979
Remender genuinely loves the X-Men, I would have followed him anywhere.
I'd frame some of these panels.
this shit is beautiful
>>85948545
Yeah, and it gets even better if you can believe it.
thanks for doing this OP I just picked up the last issue today and have been sitting here reading because i waited till they all came out before diving in, always like seeing what others think.
>>85948545
>>85948598
Even better? Murphy is doing an arc on All Star Batman.... HYPEEEEE
Some people would feel complexed by this kind of art and coloring, but honestly, it just inspires me to be a better artist.
>>85948606
I did the same thing when I found out it was only ten issues long.
Gosh.
>>85948635
I've seen the bits and bobs Murphy's been posting in his Twitter, looks pretty cool.
I love that he achieves a level of looseness in his art that never looks messy.
>>85948893
I know, right? Lovely stuff, and seeing some of his earlier work it's crazy how much he evolved as an artist.
Gonna have to take a break here to walk the dog, brb
>>85949217
No pls dont leave
Aaaand I'm back. Let's put this bad boy to rest.
>>85949455
Sorry anon, my doggo needed me!A skateboarder almost ran him over :(
I've been reading Deadly Class and trying to consider if it could've been an X-book. Similar themes about being a teen and misunderstood
>>85950107
Maybe a New Hellions book? But I kinda doubt it, reading the notes, it came from a very personal place for Remender.
>>85950182
Yeah, I kinda guessed. Part of what makes it work imo is how personal it feels. I haven't read those notes.i'm thirsty for my teen drama comix
To quote a certain character in this book, this is beautiful I want to shit.
>>85950361
That's what All-New X-Men is there for, true believer! :^)
>>85949919
You're doggo would have been safe if you didn't leave me here ;_;
>>85950499
True, but then he would shat on our rug, and my roomate would not be happy, and trust me, you do not want to see her angry, hoo boy.
>>85950553
Is she a qt 3.14?
Also you said better artist, are you studying art or something?
>>85950772
>Is she a qt 3.14?Yes, but I we stay as friends so things don't get awkward
>Also you said better artist, are you studying art or something?
Eh, sort of. I used to study graphic design but that bored me so now I'm focusing more on my writing. I still draw and take some drawing classes here and there so I don't end up as another Liefeld (ie. someone who loves drawing but has no real education)
>>85950875
>tfw I am a Liefeld
Are you planning to be a comic book writer?
How old are you X-anon?
I have to say that you are the first namefag I don't hate
>>85948037
>Remender
My captain.
My king.
Every time he's brought them up in interviews he just gushes over them, way more than the needs of the interview require.
Guy is great.
And a semi-closet weeb.
>>85950980
>Are you planning to be a comic book writer?
Hopefully. I don't really care about money, I just want to get my ideas out there, y'know? I don't consider myself a good writer, but everyone else says I've got at least a modicum of talent, so, as Crumb would put it, I just keep on truckin'.
>How old are you X-anon?21. Yeah, I'm kind of a newfag. If it makes you feel any better I didn't post here until I was actually 18, just to spare everyone the embarrassment of dealing with a dumbass teenager.
>I have to say that you are the first namefag I don't hate
Well gosh, thanks anon, that actually means a lot coming from a 4channer, hah
>>85951020
You can tell why he left Marvel, and for that I will always respect him.
>>85951111
Your quads deserve to be checked
I am sort of an artist too, you got a throwaway mail or something m8?
No need to thank me, just n-no homo tho
>>85951493
>I am sort of an artist too, you got a throwaway mail or something m8?
Nope, and frankly, I think my art is pretty amateurish and sort of embarrassing haha. I'll probably start a webcomic or something later down the line since that's how a lot of people are getting started these days.
>>85951153
Yeah, it's a real bummer, but I'm glad he's still selling issues and ended up with a pretty sizeable cult following to boot.
>>85951599
Same here. Hopefully Marvel get their head out of their collective asses and get their shit together at some point. I'm not feeling to hopeful right now, what with all these dumb MU and RESURROCTION shit, but I'm sure I'll get over it by tomorrow.
>>85951153
Was it because of the #fireremender bullshit?
>>85951869
No. It's probably because of the Axis thing, coupled with him not getting the X-books post-secret war
>>85951869
Nah, I personally think it's because he saw how Marvel would keep abusing characters he cares about, so rather than stick around and be Marvel's lapdog, he went creator-owned.
>>85951985
That too, but I feel like they would have given him the X-Books if he agreed to write them on Marvel's terms.
>>85952063
Yeah, I almost made a remark earlier about how I think he's definitely not the kind to compromise in favor of quality.
I was considering just leaving it there and continuing tomorrow, but eh, I'm kinda drunk already so let's bite the bullet and properly finish this.
>>85952748
Holy shit, no wonder SJWs hate Remender
>>85952834
If you think that's bad, wait until we reach Monster Kart Pinball.
Anon what state are you in?
Best page.
>>85953058
This... this isn't about anthrax, is itAnd I don't mean the band
>>85953066
I love it when these happen.
>>85946394
Is the series actually over now? I'll have to pick up the trade, reading it issue to issue was breaking my heart.
>>85953853
yeah its over. Murphy is doing his own Batman book now.
>>85953853
Yep, 10 issues. Remender has said they could come back and do morebut I kinda don't want them to because I liked the ending
>>85953901
Cool, I'll pick it up.
>>85952862
Wait is that a reference toThe Boysin panel 2?
>>85954249
This is not going to end well
>>85954298
It's a Remender book, of course it won't end well!
>>85954343
Yeah that didn't end well.
This is my favorite cover of the bunch.
>>85954635
>Bin Laden's go-cart is a plane
It's the little things
>>85954709
you guys know yahtzee croshaw?
davey dresses exactly like him.
Thanks for the story time OP. Such a great read. I plan on storytiming LOW here soon hopefully.
>>85954889
Hey, no problem man.
>LOW
Another Remender series that starts out rough, but gets better as it goes on. That latest issue, man.
>>85955019
>starts out rough
Really? I mean, I enjoyed it more as it went on, but I still really liked the beginning.
Now this is one hell of a wallpaper.
>>85955169
Eh, I wasn't a big fan at first. I felt like Remender was beating me over the head with the whole optimism thing. It has improved considerably since then though.
>>85955019
Low had me by issue 3 I think, as soon as they got out of the city and into the ocean.I'm kinda pissed Marik died so soon, I was hoping he'd get more of a redemption arc. Instead it all kind of happened off screenHe got a pretty good send-off though.
>>85955180
Why Can't Sean Murphy keep doing creator owned stuff like this or The Wake? I'm sure his Batman book will be good but we already have dozens of good batman stories why go to a empty well instead or continue creating your own thing.
>>85955285
Oh man, those scenes in the ocean are so fucking gorgeous. I don't know how Remender keeps getting all these great artists.
>>85955323
I have to agree with you, cape work can give us some pretty breathtaking imagery but I feel like it's in creator owned stuff where artists can really let loose.
>>85955370
The one that really pulled me was the part where the two of them swim through the swarm of jellyfish, Tochini's art is fucking gorgeous.
I think I left off right when they made it to the surface, I'm super hyped for the next trade.
Oh yeah, the Pirate guy who's trying to die with honour and the Mermaid girl are great.
>>85955477
I haven't seen the Mermaid girl in a while. I guess she's this arc's Deus Ex Machina or something.
>>85956111
Led's bike was named zeus' dick.
Boat named zeus' dick II
That's all, hope you guys enjoyed it. GXS is back tomorrow.
>>85956190
Thanks for the Story time OP.
>>85956209
I fucking loved this series so much
Thank you X-Anon I fucking love you for storytiming this
N-no homo tho
>>85956173
OOOOH FUUUCK YEAAH
>>85954963
>City is named Neo-Tokyo
>It may about to E X P L O D E
>>85955370
>how Remender keeps getting all these great artists.
He thinks like they do. He knows what they want to draw, and that's what he wants to write.
>>85957785
>He knows what they want to draw, and that's what he wants to write.
I find him to be a frustratingly inconsistent writer: I really like Deadly Class, Black Science, and Low but found this to be obnoxiously on the nose (only kept reading for the artwork) much like Devolution.
But the majority of his work (and esp his Creator Owned stuff) has such a intendancy towards gonzo visuals that I'm sure it's feeding off of itself at this point. By which I mean: anyone who's inclined to draw this type of thing is almost certainly sending him samples because he's got enough clout to get his shit in print and not only will you have fun working on the project but it'll get your name out there in a big way (because even if only a few people pick up the title you can be sure the headhunters at the Big Two are watching).
>>85947140
oath, I thought it was a really solid ending for the series. It's a shame it's over and I'm normally all about leaving things on a good note, but for once part of me wants him to continue the series.
>>85948758
one of my favourite panels in the whole series.
Thanks again for the storytime, OP.
This is an incredible book. Everyone should read it.
>>85956173
Yeah! Best Boy is alive!
>>85946394
Fucking great book
