When will this meme end? East of West is built almost entirely on the characters to the point that the actual plot progression barely matters in comparison to the character vignettes. His Secret Warriors had plenty of good character work, as did New Avengers and Fantastic Four.

Really, the only book of his that that describes is Avengers, and that was by design. Bad design, but still, that was always the plot > characters book and even then there were some great moments with Thor and Hyperion throughout and the way they culminated in their final standoff against the Beyonders was fantastic, though unfortunately marred by shit art.

What does that have to do with this announcement? A new Marvel Monsters book would appeal to older fans, not new ones. Between silver age Kirby Monsters or 70s horror monsters and Tomb of Dracula shit, Marvel's horror/monster comics are classic Marvel.

Of course we don't actually know what this is beyond the name so who knows, maybe it's a bunch of race swapped classic monsters like Black Dracula and asian Werewolf by Night or something.

Marvel has been trying to bring back their various monster properties for literally decades. It NEVER takes, but there are enough die hard fans both within Marvel and in the fanbase that they keep trying. And keep failing.
