Would be awesome if they really did kill off Shiro, but then I'm not sure how well the group dynamic would work with Shiro gone when Keith isn't the responsible leader type in the reboot. And whenever Allura filling in as a pilot gets brought up the writers insist that the castle ship is a big deal for her, which makes me think they'll just tease Shiro's death or cripple him at worst. I was thinking of the TTGL set up too. Simon losing Kamina halfway in worked because he was already a main character, but Keith has been pushed to the background and we're still waiting for his relationship with Shiro to even be explained. Season 2 will probably fix that, but for now it just seems unlikely they'll kill off the guy closest to being lead character for the development of a secondary. To be be honest the way the writers have handled Keith so far is pretty lacklustre even with the focus on him being delayed to next season, they could have cut one of 500 Lance scenes or a Hunk food joke to give Keith something personal beyond the first episode.
