well, Amethyst was a show about one character, while DCSG is a merchandise-driven show to promote dolls of just about every DC character.

It's also hosted on Youtube, not Cartoon Network, and it was never part of the DC Nation block, so its existence has nothing to do with Amethyst or TTG at all.

I have friends who are obsessed with this show since the teaser came out, and I haven't watched it until today. Ok, I watched the bits on youtube, and holy shit, this is literally Monster High/Happily Ever After why am I not surprised? They have the gotdamn dolls!

The intro is dumb and the animation is kind of basic, and why the hell does Wonder Woman have flying ability?

It's weird that in spite of griping about it (and there are other things I can gripe about), I kind of like the cheesy-non-canonical thing going on, even if it's a rehashed teen super hero trope. Reminds me of my teeny-bopper fan fiction/fantasy larp days of creating my self-insert super hero character.

I like that this show introduces DC characters to little girls even the ones that aren't that popular.

Like my 7 year old cousin knows who Crazy Quilt and Granny Goodness and the Female Furies are thanks to this show.
