Been getting into the series from issue one because I'm autistic that way. Readcomic didn't have any of the old miniseries and I didn't bother hunting them down so I just impulse ordered a lot of all ten Sonic Selects for 20 bucks.

Gotta say, for all the indifference the first hundred get, the quality dramatically improves after 36 or so. Still, I'm definitely rushing towards the first reboot at 100.

I'm seriously thinking that SEGA should reboot the Sonic series once Sonic Boom Season 2 TV show is done.

Sonic generations & Sonic generations 2 (2017) are good but they need to add more lore in the serie.

I know there are law difficulties but...

1)Reboot like the old Sonic games (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles vs Eggman, Mecha/Metal Sonic etc) and then add Sally, Bunny, Rotor & Antoine.

2) Come back with 3D gameplay, introduce Knothole (Villagers, uncle Chuck, Accorn Royalty etc) and then follow the comics with Enerjak, Iron Queen, explain dimension (Eggman killed Robotnik, Zcop, Scourge...)

As much as I love the comics and their universe, I have to disagree.

The Sonic games have more than enough to work with in terms of lore and things you could expand upon. The problem is that nobody fucking does anything with it. You could reasonable expand upon the Great Civilizations thing from Battle, or expand upon South Island and its history (The presence of ruins and totems implies some sort of culture). Also throwing away incredibly popular characters in favor of incredibly niche characters is a really, REALLY stupid idea

What blows my mind is that they came up with such a circuitous frame-up in the first place when robot duplicates were literally a recurring plot point. King Acorn himself was a robot duplicate in Endgame, yet to bump off Sally, clearly tricking Hershey into killing off Sally while wearing a Sonic costume for NO REASON is the best way to go.

Satam had some great relationship bits with sonic and tails. The archie comics delve into it a little these days but back then they really cemented that tails was a really young kid and sonic was that way cooler slightly older brother type. It was a good dynamic.

Sonic went into Super Sonic mode to revert the changes.
Eggman attacked him while he was focusing on reverting the changes.

As a result, the basic setting & plot of the original comic's run is still there, with a smattering of stuff from the 90's cartoons, and everyone getting a modern-Sega design.

A select few members of the Freedom Fighters remember the original reality but the Shattered World crisis makes them not talk about it beyond a 5 minute recap.

As far as the games go in the storyline, the events of every game released up to Sonic Unleashed has happened by this point. We're currently witnessing the end of the Unleashed events.
