So much yet so little happened during that chapter. How frustrating. None of my questions were answered and too many panels were dedicated to human stuff that we already know is established in Revolution. It was pretty cool towards the end though.

He'll probably comeback.
Or maybe he won't seeing how characters who die during crossovers stay dead,

Yeah, he might actually be dead.
>>
>>85907534
>tfw based shockwave is still dead
Why does life have to be so awful?

Also Swindle technically isn't dead, he's in a coma, see TAAO #3. It's likely he'll come back later on
>>
>>85907586
He at least got an entire crossover dedicated to his evil scheme.

And I completely forgot about TAAO. Hopefully they bring him out of that coma though turning into Bruticus with a vegetable doesn't seem like a very good idea and it's probably going to injure all of them including the already brain dead Swindle.
>>
>>85907772
The entire of IDW's Transformers series is probably indirectly thanks to him.

Combining with a brain dead dude doesn't seem like the best idea but then again they already have Brawl so one more retard can't hurt
>>
>>85907772

Yeah apparently the Titans Return deal with MTMTE and notRID is only the setting up, the real event will be the second arc of TAAO after the Combaticons arc is done and after the Revolution tie-in is done.

So I guess this does confirm that Prowl's the influence that's made Optimus act like this for a while.
>>
>>85909587
Except not, as Optimus would have had someone else do it like Prowl says he would've.
>>
>>85909838
It was enough to nudge him into acting, but Optimus isn't the kind of person to let others do things for him if he can do them himself.

In other words, Prowl might be influencing him, but that doesn't mean he's Prowl 2.0, there's still enough Optimus in there to keep himself in check.

Who's even died and come back in IDW? Rewind was an alternate timeline version, Nightbeat and Kup were revealed to have never died in the first place (kind of an asspull, but fits with the Dead Universe), Swindle is just a vegetable.
Bumblebee, Shockwave, Trailbreaker, etc; they're all still dead. I can't think of anyone else who's died and come back to life.

Ironhided died and Alpha Trio bullshitted him back to life by backuping him from hid Google drive or something.

Bumblebee & Shockwave got suck up into a black hole.

That is the comic book equivalent of "we'll put them on the side for now until we bring them back years later when we need them".

When Hasbro says TOYS NOW they will find a way a bring any dead character to life.
>>
Action Man is cancelled after issue 4, how long have Micronauts and Rom got to live?
>>
>>85911717

Ha ha what? Really?
>>
>>85911717

ROM is going to go FOREVER because Ryall has a massive hard on for Rom.

Micronauts I give them like 25 issues.

G.I. Joe will have a booost because they'll be keeping a TF character hostage so they will go on for a while before they are shitcanned for the like 5th time.

MASK will barely reach 10 issues.

>>85907130

Everything is going according to the dead sea scrolls
>>
Neglected to mention it but this really establishes Soundwave as OP's new right-hand man, doesn't it?
>>
>>85911717
Micronauts has been consistently selling better than Transformers. Rom is getting a Captain Marvel-tier push.
Action Man, meanwhile, had no nostalgia or brand recognition to cash in on, so it was doomed from the start.
>>
>>85914413
Why is Rom here instead of with Marvel anyway?
Most of his lore is there.

Because Hasbro owns Rom after buying Parker Brothers. Marvel never did.
>>
>>85915739
For what purpose? They don't do anything with it and everything that is useful is over there down to the Spaceknights. Might as well just sell it back.
>>
>>85911049

Megatron didn't die, Rewind shot a spark who never got to be someone.
>>
I've kept up with IDW's Transformers since day one and this Revolution thing is cancer, just like Combiner Wars, and just like Dark Cybertron.
>>
>>85915800
>They don't do anything with it
Because they just finally cleared up the legal issues. They're literally doing a comic right now, and Hasbro has plans for a movie and possibly a cartoon.

They can't sell it "back" because, again, Marvel never owned Rom to begin with. Rom and the Dire Wraiths are the only essential parts, and they've got those; even the new Solstar Order looks more interesting than the old spaceknights.
>>
>>85915900
It's already a million times better than either of those.
>>
>>85915900
It's going to damage the TF comics more than they already are. I guess those who were kept awake at night wishing for IDW's comics to just die will soon get their wish.
>>
>>85915900
These are all pretty much Hasbro inspired ideas. They can be traced to layoffs that occurred at Hasbro that saw most of the old guard fired and many of their internal development people like Alvarez and Schmidt fired.
>>
>>85914413
>Micronauts has been consistently selling better than Transformers.
Woah are you serious? I love Micronauts so far but I didn't think it had gained so much momentum already? Nobody talks about it.
>>
>>85916225
Why doesn't Hasbro put James Roberts in charge of the toyline? I'm sure kids all over the world would love to fuck themselves with transsexual gay robots.
>>
>>85916349
Yeah, the first four issues have sold more physically than any of the TF comics on sale at the same time.
>>
>>85916376

Roberts isn't a toy designer. And there haven't been any transsexual characters so far.

The kids I know also don't fuck themselves with their toys and if they did, it's a problem that has very little to do with the toy.

Are you the guy who shoved Buzz Lightyear in his ass?
>>
>>85916416
Thank God.
I was afraid Micronauts was doing terribly since again, not much talk. As for Transformers, I'm sure it will regain some popularity after Revolution and onward to Optimus Prime. MTMTE #55 buried Roberts and exRiD is forced to suffer through this toyetic event. Sentinel being Sentinel and Soundwave being a good guy are Titans returns only redeeming qualities at the moment.

This. These crossovers are killing the stories in all the books and keeps them from being interesting because the plots are so murky or just plain shit.
>>
>>85916617
No amount of memes is going to change how bland and unremarkable most of the spaceknights were; it didn't help that they didn't have much going personality-wise, either. Snake guy and bear already look more memorable than any of the Marvel spaceknights did.
>>
>>85916659
Sorry they keep putting toy commercials in your toy commercials, bro.
>>

And yet the hype becuase of the events will make these books sell a million times more than without it.

You'll still get your precious gay robot drama don't worry.
>>
>>85916659
Well, it looks like Till All Are One and MTMTE/Lost Light are going to keep doing their thing without interference. The only one being derailed by this is exRID/Optimus Prime.
Barber sounds considerably more excited about this in interviews than he did about any previous event, which gives me the impression that this is his baby. I'm down for a Hasbroverse that Barber's actually as a passion project rather than derailing what he wants to do.
>>
>>85916740
The only thing wrong with ROM is its art to be quite honest. Issue #2 was fantastic.
>>
>>85916829
>The only one being derailed by this is exRID/Optimus Prime.
Not that anon but I hope it doesn't crossover too often, I don't even mind Revolution in fact, I'm excited for it but I want TF to carry on with their own plots as well.
I have the unpopular opinion of having always liked exRiD more than MTMTE so I especially dont want to see it drowned in Joes.
>>
>>85916966
Seems like most of the crossing over is gonna be done in Revolutionaries, so OP should be safe for the most part. The Joes probably will have about as much exposure as the EDC did.
>>

>>
>>85916966
My opinion on which TF comic is better flipflopped after Dark Cybertron shook up the status quo. MTME just turned stupid while ex-RID started to finally get personality and plot direction.
>>
>>85916845

What's wrong with the art? So far the humans look human, Wraiths look monstrous sexy, and ROM has sexy feet. His head is a bit of a weird case though.
>>
>>85915900
That's okay, since IDW Transformers comics are cancer.
>>

Ugh. Why did it have to be the title that was actually good during its 2nd half.
>>85917358

The humans are drawn from good to really, really bad. The artist isn't consistent.
>>
>>85917175

Sometimes I wonder how Swearth and Charisma space barnacles were paseed through the editors.
>>
>>85917725

Mind pointing out a particularly bad one? I probably didn't notice because I'm used to TF artists like Ramendeli fucking up everything and Griffith (sorry) whose humans look kinda awkward.

>>85917852

The charisma barnacles weren't a bad idea per se, there was just something that sucked in the execution, and the art had gotten kinda bad because Milne went full anime with the girls. And the colorist had a bit of a weird phase.

Swearth was a mess though. The amount of humans fucked up most of the plot and character shit.

Swearth was a pretty fun one-shot. It was indulgent, yeah, but it wasn't indulgent at the expense of everything else, because that was its very premise.

These were just one of many stories ending with Dying of the Light that showed Roberts had lost it. He really needs to work on his piloting because all his recent stuff feels overly indulgent and trying to be too clever while falling flat on his face.
>>
>>85919086
Swerve literally projected a holographic replica of Earth during a coma. To make something of that scale is outlier tier and he did it an a coma out of sheer, subconcious, will and passion for sitcoms. It was way too ridiculous.

The best thing to come out of Swearth were the human holoforms. Lady Cyclonus and Proff. Rung had really neat designs.
>>
>>85919279
Cyclonus's didn't feel like a warrior. Too many things that would hinder movement.

That was due to the timecase and meta-bomb, though. He wouldn't have been able to do it normally.

>>
>>85906719
I'm torn about this. On the surface it seems exciting enough, but multi-comic crossover events are typically just publicity stunts that often end up going to crap unless they have a proper vision behind it. And this is IDW's first major hooplah (not that they didn't dabble before) set to coincide with the launch of several titles.

Already not 100% jazzed with how Transformers is fitting in. Oh well, nothing to do but wait and see.

>>
>>85919864
I think Kup still beats them. He's fucking BILLIONS of years old. The IDW 13 aren't that old.
>>
>>85919864
There any clarification on how long they were puttering around before the great war started? Kup's had 4 billion years added to his age due to being stuck in an alternate universe, and he was treated as being much older than other vets like Optimus even before he got sucked into the Dead Universe..
>>
>>85919922
>nb4 Kup is actually Primus' headmasters headmasters headmaster
>>
>>85919938
Not that I know of but the Primes were literally the founding fathers (and mother) of Cybertron as we know it so I'm just going to assume they're older than Kup.
>>
Ho hum. Not a very exciting TF issue, mostly because MTMtE already spoiled it.

But man...I'm worried about ROM...
>>
>>85920060
Not really, in IDW they just led some tribes. The Knights of Cybertron were older and more important, and I'm pretty sure they were said to be a lot younger than 4 billion.
>>
>>85920060
>>85920174
The stuff with Primus and the Guiding Hand was said to have been 10 million years ago, and the 13 wasn't around then. Kup's older than them.
>>
>>85920060
The TF multiverse ditched universal constants, so now the Primes can be anything in any fiction (makes less headaches this way even if it makes this less 'epic'). IDW Primes were just a bunch of tribe leaders with fetishes for certain gimmicks like animal altmodes or combiners.
>>
>>85920174
We're not even sure there are real Knights yet, or any of the other guys like Mortilus.

Just a reminder that their history and religion are still, ahem, transformative. We don't really know what the actual truth is until we know it, and even then it might be suspect. Alpha Trion was saying as much to Optimus.

So far we've got clues and stories but the facts are always transforming.
>>
>>85920239
>Kup is older than Primus
WHERE DID HE EVEN COME FROM THEN?
>he turns out to be the man Primus himself hence why he's important enough to be a protagonist in "Revolutionaries".
>>
>>85920481
He's older than them because of time travel. That's it, there's no great mystery.
>>
>>85920120
>Not a very exciting TF issue, mostly because MTMtE already spoiled it.
I say it's because the humans took away from the action by introducing Colton and that whole deal of driving Blackrock to whatever prison they were taking him to. It cut the portion with OP, Soundwave, and Arcee short so their biggest contribution to the issue was literally just walking into a titan with some witty dialogue between OP and Soundwave. Arcee contacting Prowl would have been more shocking had it come out before MTMTE.
>>
>>85920481
He's only older due to being shunted off to another universe at it's birth (and thus being partly responsible for it mutating into a malevolent sentient entity), and was rescued several years later in the IDW universe timeline, but what passed for 4 billion years to him. So technically he existed in two places at the same time for several million years due to being in the Dead Universe and the IDW universe simultaneously.
>>
>>85920541
>>85920548
Ah, right.
Dead universe.
>>
>>85920481
I think I misread a post. I meant that Kup's older than them thanks to being sent back in time to the beginning of the Dead Universe.

IDW already has delays every single month between exRiD and MTMTE. So it's probably going to be excessive as well.

Have you guys noticed the other Decepticons who were on the Sanctuary station with Soundwave have had absolutely no input on this decision to work with Optimus whatsoever. Her hair looks disconnected from the rest of her and I can't tell what's going on with her hands and fingers. The guy with the gold chin also looks off. He's turned so we can see the back of his neck, but we see his ear as if it's facing us, his chin looks as if it's side on for the most part, yet his face looks like it's turned to match his neck. A lot of the art is just a bit odd, enough for me to get distracted from the dialogue. Little anatomy and line work things that just eventually become irritating after a while.

>if Prowl isn't lying about Ostaros, whom he cares about, then it's probably Springer
Like this?
>>
>>85930610
Probably, but add in that if Prowl kept anything like that alive he'd also very likely keep it close to him, under his direct authority, under observation, etc.

Soundwave can't read human minds in this continuity?
>>
>>85930644
I see. But then how did they know that Prowl was lying? Just because he's lied about everything else?
>>
>>85931375

Impactor responded to Springer, which brought Springer to everyone's immediate consciousness. That's why they thought of Springer.

Prowl has also never done anything himself, like Tarantulas says on the exact page, literally spelling it out for everyone, panel by panel. He even points out the Impetus thing.

The final screw was the connection they made thanks to Impactor. Arcee knows Prowl well enough to think it's Springer, Verity is clever.

People where theorizing that it was Kup but honestly he seems like the most obvious and bland choice.

Skywarp would be interesting and him warping around could be a heck of a lot of help, although the Joes would need a heck of a reason to have him help them (I guess the whole fixing his incorporeal problem would be enough).

TC will probably stay in ExRid and he just jumped ship from the EDC to the Autobots, besides him going from Decepticons to EDC to Autobots and to the Joes would just seem like TC can't keep to one group anymore.

>>85928319
Lol you're right and I honestly think that's an even more perfect reason to have him.

>>85929086
I don't feel like Skywarp is a pet type of guy and he would probably think dealing with the humans would be enough of a hassle although the cat idea sounds fun.
>>
>>85930968
Yes he can.
He did it like 2 issues ago and it's what caused him to later willingly join Primes side. Now he wants to protect them.

Why did people not like SOTW again? I thought that portion of it was well done.

Not enough implied gay sex.

I'm guessing it's a preview of who's going to be notable in Lost Light.
Jackpot and Mainframe are there, so if they're gonna be part of the main cast, I'm happy.
>>
>>85934056
But there was plenty of that.
Tarantulas obviously had a hard on for Prowl.

Same. Though, I'm hoping some other guys like Perceptor and Blaster also start to play a bigger role. Especially Blaster who seriously has not gotten any attention whatsoever during IDWs run; his spotlight is embarrassing.

I honestly couldn't say. I personally loved it.

>>85934459
Right?
I thought it was fun and Tarantulas is delightfully creepy.

I should probably check out the new book then, because the Spacknight Squadron, Terminator et al were highly memorable.

I mean there's a dude called Raak the Breaker, that's metal af
>>
>>85935227
Not that anon, but the new Space knights haven't even shown up yet but should be as soon as Revolution is over. They all seem to be totally different creatures though seeing how one is basically a bear with a metallic mask and another dude loops entirely made of slime with some armor here and there.
>>
>>85934150
It's not a preview, especially when Powerglide is on there despite leaving the Lost Light and there's a bunch of dead characters. It's just a celebration of who's been in the book, and Roche couldn't include everyone.
>>
>>85934459
I actually can't remember the last issue.
>>

>I should probably check out the new book then, because the Spacknight Squadron, Terminator et al were highly memorable.
Going to have to disagree with you there. Terminator was okay, but I can barely remember the Spaceknight Squadron's individual personalities, names, and designs. They did not stand out much.

There's also a floating cube.

-There were delays in the release schedule
-Fans didn't know where to place the stroyline (like Kup and Arcee with ExRID)
-It's more enjoyable reading in one go,
