You know what's great about Marvel finally letting Peter grow up a little? Like, how he feels like a 30 year old? That means there's an entire generation of kids who grew up in the Marvel Universe thinking Spider-Man is the shit. That means we get kids like Bruno who have probably carried around that Spidey plush since they were a toddler. That's awesome.

Carol basically appears to stop the fight plot-wise, too bad because I thought they could've interacted a bit more, especially since we've seen Carol's line of thought (and how she sees Kamala's idea of her as a model to aspire to) in the Gages' tie-in

>>85906821
>>85906821
Tbqh I found out it's the costume's frame's fault, because it severely undersizes her hips. Carol still has a woman's build (except when drawn by Anka), but the costume makes your eye perceive the more square figure first

Or, if you really can't deal with CWII, you can just wait for October, when the tie-in will be over
>>
This could've been a fantastic issue. But it's tainted. Tainted by Kamala being bullied into being Captain Fascist's lackey because of fucking Bendis.
>>
>>85906907
Not that anon, but it's different.
Civil War had as many good tie-ins that helped explaining the main plot and make it work as utterly bad ones that made it infinitely worse like Iron Man being a colossal fascist in ASM and his own title, the long-running mini with the Daily Bugle guy who uncovered this massive conspiracy beyond the SHRA that was just left unexplained at the end, Wolverine having that whole Damage Control espionage subplot that contradicted stuff in the main title, and many more I'm too old to recall now. It got to the point where even the good ones like the truce one where Tony explains Cap his motivations where he's seen this whole dystopic future if he's not in charge of implementing and backing down on the SHRA look bad as a result of the fact that they're never referenced by Millar and look like too much damage control

You basically have to treat this event like there's two separate timelines: Bendis, and literally everyone else.

Everyone else is writing a story where there's some nuance to what's happening, as retarded as it all is. People actually talk and admit to problems on their side. People have motivations that make sense, even if they're wrong.

Bendis is Bendis.

>>
>>85906605
Man, good thing he lives in the 616, where it's full of fucking super-advanced transhuman better-than-the-original prosthetics and whatnot.

This is why I don't like all the MAD SCIENCE EVERYWHERE elements that've gotten more and more mainstream in the everyday 616 the last few years. Bruno (assuming he lives) would have medical technology advanced enough that it'd be like he'd never had anything bad happen to him.

Don't get me wrong, I'd want that in the real world, too, it's not like suffering is a good thing. But trying to play up the drama when the technology is SO advanced that it'd make him "healthier" than he was before gets really awkward sometimes.
>>
>>85907374
I'm pretty sure that plot convenient comas are something that no one in super science has ever cured
>>
>>85906588
So Kamala has given up on her secret identity at this point, right?
>>
>>85907626

I think she's currently tooo affected to care. When she goes down from the despair ride she may facepalm at how many clues she's leaving on that front, but right now she doesn't give a shit because her best friend is near dead.
>>
>>85906684
Holy shit! They are just putting them in cells over night! This "Civil War" is so contrived!
>>
>>85907584

No different to Catholics and Protestants in Ireland. Also within larger groups where theres whites, blacks, etc; indians and pakis always end up being friends & sticking together.

Also seen the same thing happen with Turk Cypriots & Greek Cypriots. When its just them they're at each others throats.

But yeah hindi-urdu are actually the same language, hindustani. The only difference is urdu is written in a persian-arabic script and has some more loan words from that culture, while hindi is in a sanskrit based script. They're the same language and always have been. Just written in two different scripts.

Yes we should import people who belong to a fascist belief system that routinely kills gays, atheists, jews, christians and all non-believers and systematically enslaves minorities.
Yes we should import people who's STATED GOAL is to establish theocracies and enslave or convert every human on the planet.

It was okay. The stuff with Bruno was really good, the Carol Danvers Hitler Youth stuff still isn't really doing it for me.

I know that superhero comics are required to take part in these big crisis crossover events because that's the entire point of these shared settings, but I kind of wish they didn't? I've been enjoying Kamala's Ms. Marvel run a lot more when the character's been able to shine on her own or interact casually with the heroes she admires without the looming pressure of all this Civil War 2 business.

There is a difference between fun and happy feelings.
Many comics manage to be fun without being all lighthearted all the time.
But watching 616 slip into conflict over an overblown spat in slowmo AGAIN is decidedly unfun.
A tragedy you watch over months just stops having impact and just becomes annoying.
Watching a great tragedy for an hour or two is cathartic. Watching forced tragedy drag down everything in a vortex of suckitude is just angering people.
If the authors have to work hard around Bendis' internal logic disconnects to form a cohesive argument, nobody is having fun.

The fact that AIM is basically a atheist religion means that there is nothing wrong or illegal with identifying with their ideology or goals, just like being Muslim doesn't mean you are in ISIS. Same with Vampires, they probably get full disability and a Food Stamp card that is usable at blood banks.

#notallbeekeepers
#unlivesmatter
>>
>>85917277
Just because you are a science cult doesn't mean you are a religion.
>>
>>85917371
By definition it kinda exactly means that. If you can win court cases saying that a spaghetti strainer or burka are religious attire then the beekeeper suit isn't a stretch, especially when your 'cult' has a UN seat.

Given that AIM has an actual vote at the UN they have more legitimacy than the Vatican and Catholicism, they only have an observer seat.

>>85917483
I'm not saying AIM couldn't successfully claim to be a religion. I'm saying they aren't one.
Religions have distinct sets of otherworldly claims beyond normal reality. Such as heaven, hell, transsubstantiation, resurrection of the dead, etc.
AIM claims no such things. They just like doing crazy science.
From what I have seen, they could be seen as a militarist group with their strict hierarchy, uniforms, plans of conquest etc.
But I have seen nothing that goes beyond trappings of a cult of personality in them, which is not unknown in political structures, especially for authoritarian ones.

I'm not saying you couldn't make them into a religion or try and legally argue for privileges.
I'm saying that as they are, they are not objectively a religion.

>>85917619
Not sure if they hit all hallmarks for a religion in the strictest sense, but they are not actually scientific at all. Outside of the cynical calculation with which they part followers from their money.
Seriously, there is a science to how you gain (religious) cult followers, control them and bind them to you. I'm excluding from this groups and movements that could look cultish but work along different mechanisms of human interaction.
Scientology is a clear-cut religious cult in that it acts to form a close-knit network of members, uses love-bombing, threats, confirmation and an idea of inherent guilt on you to control the entrant.
However there is nothing scientific about their retarded beliefs which have the grubby hands of a third-rate sci-fi author all over them

So many people thinking Bruno will die or turn evil. I severely doubt either will happen. >>-A hero rejected by his love-
>>

They'll probably kill him off so they don't have to worry about Ms Marvel's side characters.
>>
>>85931659
Not so long as Wilson's around, but once she's gone, it's open season.
>>
>>85931517
Isn't Kamala traveling the world in chapters solicited after civil war?
>>
>>85915960
>I think these hazmat suits are just something that people wear for some reason in Alphona's Jersey.

It ain't called "The Toxic State" for nothing.
>>
>>85931770
As far as I know, the only place she's going is Pakistan to try and reconnect with her roots, as a sort of "back to basics" journey after all the mayhem of CWII.

Plus, they've been setting up her maternal grandmother in the event as having some suspicion that Kamala and her mom's side of the family have Inhuman roots, no doubt as a lead-in to the next arc.
>>
So how does Basic Becky have a direct line to Ulysses? She's got him predicting petty crimes in Hoboken when he's usually dreaming of end of the world scenarios.
>>
>>85932608
She has a wrist communicator from Carol and gets a feed of relevant prophecy.
>>
>>85928169
Carol has always been an authoritarian warmonger. Which is great, Marvel should acknowledge how much of a bloodthirster she is more often. It's a lot better than her being the go-to perfect "look, we have a big female character" character.
>>
>>85930273

If anything it'll be his girlfriend that goes villian.
>>
>>85935306
Maybe. She does seem like someone who'd snap.
>>
>>85936374
But why would that happen?
Second-hand anger?
>>
>>85937290

Blaming Ms. Marvel and her goon squad for putting Bruno in the situation to get hurt in the first place?
>>
So what's it gonna be guys? Does anyone actually believe he's gonna die?
>>
>>85939570
I don't. A mini-nuke going off in his hand didn't stop him.
>>
>>85906795
So, nobody else is commenting on the implication that Becky is actually trying to get Carol and Kamala to kill each other so she can take over?
>>
>>85939798
I don't think she actually wants to kill Carol. It seems to me that she'd rather want her to go full fascist with Becky as her right-hand woman, and for that she have to make all the people that make her weak "go away"
>>
>>85939950
Yeah, I don't quite buy that. She seems more like she's got her eye on being the topmost dog in this precog police, and if that means bringing both Kamala and Carol down, she's all for it.
>>
Bruno should go evil. Kamala needs good recurring villains.
>>
>>85940223
>wants to be top dog in pre-cog police
>has never met the royal family who are in charge of ulysses
Becky didn't plan this out enough
>>
>>85940416
Or maybe she's planned this out deeper than everybody thinks, enough that she can turn everything on its ear. We'll see in a month.

AFTER BRUNO, THAT IS!
>>
>>85941277
Ye of little faith. This whole story arc is essentially about having faith no matter how bad things get.
>>
>>85941277
Nah. There are lots of people in the Marvel Universe that can save Bruno, like Reed Richards, Bruce Banner, Hank Pym... oh.
Forget I said anything, Bruno is as dead as Uncle Ben
>>
>>85941736
I'm sure Beast could help. Any friend of the inhumans is a friend of Beast's.
>>
>>85941839
Beast is just the Inhuman royalty's house mutant they hold the ability to save his people over so he does their bidding. If the other Inhumans don't want Bruno to survive his hands are tied.
>>
>>85941839
Hell, the Inhumans would probably heal Bruno themselves after Kamala gives them a nice big sob story, since Medusa wouldn't want to lose what little trust Kamala has for her.
