OP here, I got mine on Amazon and no problems at all. Just tell them its damaged, they'll send you a new one and you can just send that one back within 30 days. Your mail man is just a dick. Mine did that a few times and I called Amazon and they called the USPS and bitched them out and I never had that problem again.

That's the plan. I've had fine experiences with both Amazon and IST, but the Prime shipping and price did it for me this time.
>>
>>85895156
Yeah I always get trades on Amazon, omnis on IST.
>>
>>85894786
It's quicker and easier getting a return on IST.
>>
>>85895299
No and no. Amazon will send you a copy as soon as you click that you want one and it'll be there in 2 days. You have 30 days to return it. IST makes you pay for the shipping, and takes 2 weeks. Maybe if you are a poorfag and don't have Prime so they don't care about you.

>>
>>85894786
They actively try to prevent that though, amazon doesn't, that's the difference.
>>
>>85895514
IST also takes an ungodly amount of time to ship your stuff though and I've gotten omnis covered in glue.
>>
>>85895539

>>
>>85895496
Your best chance is to probably see if an LCS will special order a copy but you'll no doubt pay cover price.
>>
>>85895299
Fuck no.
IST takes forever to ship.
Most bad interactions on amazon have gotten me same day refunds and shit. And exchanges are usually faster.

>>
>>85896889
Thats dumb, its like you don't like cheap things with free shipping. Im assuming you aren't from America.
>>
>>85896986

They rarely have the best discounts and their packaging/handling is garbage. IST is the best site to buy hardcovers.

Fuck, I even have Prime.
>>
>>85897058
>>85896889

>>

>and their packaging/handling is garbage.

Maybe you just live in a shitty area. I've never had any problems in that department. But I've been transitioning to using IST because of the cheaper prices.
>>
>>85897058
No. Its actually exactly the same price on trades if you have Prime cause IST charges for shipping. Omnis are only worth it on IST. Also you keep citing the "packaging handling" and I ask again do you not live in America? Cause my stuff always comes in boxes and is fine.

>>85897126
IST gives free shipping on orders over $50 plus a 3%(or 2%, I forget) discount on your next order. And yes, I do live in America.
>>
>>85897126
Prime isn't free, though- in most cases. I don't even know why I have it any more.
>>
>>85897193
Well thats shitty mate but I think you are overreacting. Trades are fine from Amazon. I wouldn't buy omnis from them though too much. Like I said before though one of the omnis I bought from IST was fucking trashed, covered in glue and a ripped up back cover. These things happen.
>>
>>85897241
What? I've never bought something on Amazon that wasn't free shipping on Prime and I buy stuff from them weekly. I don't know what kind of offbrand account you have.
>>
>>85897223
>plus a 3%(or 2%, I forget)

2%, plus I think they stack it a few times if you order within a certain period.

>>
>>85897289
Prime shipping is free, but prime costs money.

>>
>>85895014

I had no idea this existed.

How do I know that this stuff exists? Is there a site that lists what trades are being released each month? /co/ used to tell me but /co/ doesn't discuss comics anymore unless it's to whine about what creators say on twitter.
>>
>>85897313
And as anon in the OP said he ordered it from Amazon and had no problems. It really just depends on how big of a dick your mail man is.
>>
>>85897341
I mean, 6 month free if you are in college then $50 a year. I don't really consider that much considering Netflix charges me $10 a month.
>>
>>85897354
Funnily enough I found out about it because of /co/.
>>
>>85897262
It would only be over reacting if there was some benefit to buying from Amazon for me, but there is not. I rarely buy trades, and when I do I just wait until I see an omni I want and order them all at once.
>>
>>85897381
I am no longer a student and I don't watch TV. At all.
>>
>>85894754
>>85894786

I don't understand the appeal of Instocktrades. The frontpage always says "HOLY FUCK 80% OFF OF LITERALLY EVERYTHING" but trades are so retardedly overpriced you're still gonna pay at least $15 for everything on the site.

It's just plain more expensive than amazon or ebay.
>>
>>85897357

>>
>>85897423
Not that anon, but most trades I've seen on Amazon are about 15 bucks while they're usually 10 or less on IST. As long as you get 50 bucks worth at a time, I don't see the point in using Amazon first.
>>

Nah, calm down I was just asking.
But yeah you really should have contacted them instead of just keeping it.

>>
>>85898077
I wonder if the Free Shipping option factors into it. I usually go for free shipping, and the boxes tend to be very slim and tightly packed. The few times I've had to do regular shipping, the boxes were oversized with lots of padding.

Just listen to the Main Range in order, they start off rocky but they get a lot better over time and some character/arc stuff builds throughout all audios

The Eighth Doctor Adventures is another great series set in a more nu-who style

The Companion Chronicles is a great more experimental range that plays with narration and storytelling with the older doctors

Just listen to all those ranges in order and switch between them whenever you get bored, there's tons of great stuff

I dunno dude, considering they're doing that Khamandi challenge, and Pope still does work for them from time to time, you'd think someone would dig up the pages.
>>
>>85899718
I just wish people would let DC know they'd like to see Pope's Kamandi or McCarthy's Creeper instead of shipostion on 4chan and forums about it. Especially today, it's really easy to communicate with publishers and if enough people voice it, then it might just happen, look at Omega Men.
>>
>>85909449
I don't think enough people know about it. It's one thing to save a book that's about to be canceled, even though that only worked for one of the 12 issue minis, it's another thing to get people excited for a book that has been made yet.

Because people only made noise for OM. I was also enjoying Gotham By Midnight and when it was announced as ending very plfew people seemed to care. If you're to look at OM, it didn't sell very well either but it's fans were passionate about it.

Very slow and very decompressed. Which is a shame, since the ingredients for an enjoyable book are there.

Just garbage on my end. I've been trolling eBay for Sonic comic lots and I just bought every Sonic Select and the first 15 Sonic Archives for a total of like, 30 bucks. I have no idea why I did that.

>>
>>85910031
Great art but writing is lousy. First arc was 7 fucking issues long and most of it consisted of the main character questioning if everythibg's real or a hallucination. I read until #9 I think and he was still wondering if someone slipped something in his drink or what.

>>
>>85912996
>Edgy is violence for the sake of violence.
edgy means pushing boundaries, whether through violence or sex or narrative
being edgy is neither inherently bad or good unless you do not like when stories go outside the established comfort zone or view that as something admirable with any context

I recently bought Omega Men too. This is the first DC comic I buy, why is the paper quality so terrible?

I've only bought stuff from Image before and their paper is a whole lot better than this.

I disagree. I think the paper quality is fine. I own a lot of Image books and its exactly the same.

>>85913317

>>
>>85913279
Edginess can have a point though. funny games for example was about how people view violence in tv and movies and is very edgy, same with straw dogs being about masculinity.
>>
>>85913357
Well maybe it's he comic I'm buying, East of West. The pages seem thicker and they're not gloss. The cover is also better quality with EoW.

I'm on holiday but when I get back I've got the following to pick up and waiting for me.
Blue Beetle Rebirth +#1 & #2
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #1-3
Aqua Man #2-5
The Walking Dead #157-#158
Rumble #12

Also a signed Walking Dead #157 variant by Adlard.
Speaking of new DC, how is Blue Beetle going? One of the titles I was looking forward too since I've been curious in the character but never read. I'm enjoying the new Aqua Man run a hell of a lot due to reading scans online here before I go pick the issues up at home, is Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps shaping up to be good? One of the titles I am most looking forward too.
>>
>>85913794
First BB issue wasn't very introductory. It was ok (mainly just established the status quo of Jaime having newly gotten his scarab and asking Ted for help with Ted over radio helping him in battle too) but I'm not sure how it would be for someone who hadn't read the 06 book.

Just pick it up and if you like it you can get tpbs of the 06 series or scans and read the back story as well. The only reason to not just jump into a series you're interested in is if its a very character based series like.... a Hellblazer, Preacher, Mignolaverse, ....trying to think of more but I'm kinda stoned, lol.

tldr: just read the shit, first issue was good

I was at my local book shop perusing comics and some elderly women asked me if the Captain America book they were looking at was the same as Captain Marvel, they said they were buying a gift for a 13 year old boy and he asked for Batman or Captain Marvel.

I explained that Captain America is a different character and that there weren't any Captain Marvel books on the shelves, they asked about the Batman books (Arkham Knight vol. 3 and New 52 vol. 8) and i said it's probably better to get a stand alone book instead of a story that's part way through and finishes in another volume.

They asked me what a good comic is and i highly recommended Watchmen, did i fuck up? Only on the way home did it hit me that it's a lot darker than i remembered at a glance, would you recommend it for a 13 year old?

My "to buy" list is getting out of hand.

Currently looking at:
Sandman (nearly pulled the trigger on the slipcase set more than once but then talk myself in to waiting and grabbing the absolutes later)
Hellboy Library Editions (started on the normal trades and hate rebuying stuff, but they're so nice)
Morrison's New X-Men (bought the first trade and will grab the other two, they're just pretty steep as far as TPBs go)
New Teen Titans (the opposite of New X-Men, super cheap trades for how much you get in them, just loads of it. 2 down and I think there's another 3 or 4 out with more on the way)
Academy X (OOP, but I've snagged most for cheap, just a couple of volumes left to find)
Cass Batgirl (never read her solo book but like the character when she's cropped up in other stuff)
Walter Simmonson Thor (would be a blind buy, never read ANY Thor and heard it was a good place to start)
Black Orchid (sort of blind, but I love other Gaiman stuff so figured it's not a big gamble)
Post-Final Crisis Morrison Batman (I enjoyed what I've read so far, but wasn't blown away. May not have bothered if the idea of Dick and Damian partnered up didn't appeal so much)
Lee/Ditko Spider-Man omni (I passed on it at £40 and have been kicking myself since it hasn't been that low since)

Talk me out of some of these so I can afford to eat next month.

Most of those are literal whos. Can you tell me which ones are trash? I'm looking for high tier comics like Prophet, Black Science, and Omega Men. Wanna stay away from garbage like Saga.
>>
>>85942506
I'll vouch for Descender, but it essentially Sweet Tooth ... IN SPACE!
>>
>>85942506
Read Descender. It's good. Really good art too.
>>
>>85942632

Will do, I like Lemire. Thanks
>>
>>85942343
I like Gaiman usually, but Black Orchid was kinda dumb. Great art though.

Just picked these up today.
>>
>>85942343

Hellboy Llibrary ed's should be priority since unlike some things that are OOP they're probably *going* out of print.

Other than that you should probably just leave black orchid out and concentrate on sandman if you want more gaiman after then you can get it later.... I have no idea what Academy X is but if you've almost completed it then go for it... simonson thor is fucking great but just get a couple trades to start, who knows you might not get into it.. and I don't know shit about cass batgirl but that one seems a bit dodgy, its not something i see on shelves here alot and if it was good it would be more talked about.
>>
>>85946898

welp you managed 1/3 so good effort....
>>
>>85948877
Cassandra Cain used to be /co/s shit for the longest time, it's just that she isn't used anymore so her popularity has taken a hit, also her new reprints just started coming out this year
>>
>>85948877

Cheers, wasn't aware they were going OOP, just ordered the lot now.

Academy X was a rebrand of New Mutants, which was then rebranded again as New X-Men for the second half of the run (after the previous New X-Men book came to an end). It's all very confusing.

Going to conventions on the day that is half price is fun and frees up more put away cash for comics.

The amount of space Funko takes up at those things now is sickening however.

This is some lovely assumption laden asspain right here.
I am older than both of you and likely older than both of you combined.
I wasn't wven trying to insult the comic.

Hahaha.
Jesus.

I didn't end up buying anything besides some funkos

Aside from Venom, I also picked up The Nam vol. 1, Armor Wars II and Armor Wars Prologue.
>>
>>85953059
My experience is generally good since I am just browsing longboxes for a couple hours before leaving.
>>
>Transformers vs GI Joe
God bless you Tom Scioli
>>
>>85954425
Is it really that good? I kinda want to read it now.
>>
>>85950737
Nice find on the robo cop v terminator! Jelly af
>>
>>85954582
It is the best comic of 2016 as of right now
>>
>>85954347
That's a pretty sick venom, idk how I feel about his heads head, but it looks interchangeable, hopefully. Also how do you feel about the packaging of marvel figures. I feel as though I'd buy more if they weren't perma open.
>>
>>85954661
Well fuck. I wish I'd known about it, I would have been buying the singles. Guess I'll just pick up the trades.
>>
>>85954688
Come on man. Why do you have to take such a cool comic and make a name out of it. Thats in poor taste.
>>
>>85954831
Haha, the fuck... ive had this name for a while and you're the first to whine about it, that's new. Do you complain about other comic names, is it illegal for me to like a comic character... I mean fuck, if it's a good comic why is it in poor taste. Your comment was in poor taste anon. Didn't your family ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say keep your mouth fucking shut.
>>
>>85955065
Well you see all namefags are faggots. Ie you are making people think Omega Men is for faggots by free association.
>>
>>85894657
Fuuuuck that sux...

>>85898362
>>85897129
Hnnng those omnis.

>>85955126
Lol, this guy is edgy as fuck right now...
Hmm
>well you see
>le you
Haha go finish your homework.

On top of which, I don't use a name, but I'll admit it makes it easier knowing what that person said to adequately have a good conversation with. Not everyone is a naggy bitch. You gunna go whine about other names now, go ahead.
>>
>>85955126
You give WAAAY to much thought into names pal. Maybe cool down before you get to heated.
>>
>>85955126
But before your next snide post, are you the anon who was mentioned in the post you replied to?
>>
>>85903623
Well the good news is that I'm really liking it so far. I knew that if there'd be anyone to write a Batman story I'd enjoy, it'd be Morrison.

Bad news is that after looking at my upcoming pull list for the next few months, I'm gonna have to cut down on trades and omnis big time. Probably just stop all together until some of these runs end. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes.

Superior Foes Omni Signed and Sketched
The Fix 1-4, Signed + Pretzels Sketch
ROM 4, 18, 19, 21, 24
Power Man and Iron Fist 73, which won't be in the 2nd Epic they're putting out.
>>
>>85954688
Yeah, the heads and the back arms are interchangeable.
>Also how do you feel about the packaging of marvel figures
This is the first marvel figure I've bought in a while, so I don't really have an opinion on the packaging.

Now I may not be as into robo cop as I think I am.... but Is he usually so fucking decked out as I see in the cover of the issue 4?

Local used music and movie store tried selling liquidated books, but on clearance now. Managed to get all of these (some still in shrink wrap) for around 30$ Canadian. Good haul.

Too bad you got the inferior version of that second volume of castle waiting, other than that though you did pretty well
>>
>>85954425
I love Scioli, but I have no experience with either properties.
Will this be something someone like me can enjoy?
>>
>>85960658
Yes,I actually really never enjoyed anything relating to TF but I enjoyed it, I think actually if you are a fan of it you would be less likely to like it because of how off the rails and insane it is which I'm guessing the shows never were like
>>
>>85960634
I thought that was the newer version that had extra chapters in it.
>>
>>85960668
So no nostalgia-baiting. That's good. Now I might give it a try.
>>
>>85955626
2 bucks, the whole haul was haul was 26 bucks.
There were suprsingly few comic vendors, and one guy was trying to sell ROM issues at 7 bucks a pop
>>
>>85960634
I'm not familiar with castle waiting at all, just grabbed it since it was so cheap, what's inferior about the second volume?
>>
>>85955647
I've never read them, but they were cheap and the art is fantastic (rip Cooke). I was looking online and found it confusing, are there more volumes?
>>
Anyone headed to Baltimore Comic Con today?
>>
>>85962049
It's an adaption of a very long and good crime book series with those four being the only ones Cooke adapted, you can just read the rest of the novels though because Cooke does barely anything different from them and you're basically getting the cliff notes versions

Today's delivery. Was hoping Final Crisis would turn up today too, but no such luck.

Got Wonder Woman from £26 which I was super pleased with. Some Amazon marketplace seller with hardly any feedback. Took ages to come, but it's brand new and in perfect condition, so glad I took the risk.

The three Academy X books were a bundle on ebay that I got for £14. Some damage to the spine on House of M, but great condition other than that.

Should I put this extra 40% off coupon Barnes and Noble sent me on ordering a copy of Goon Library 1 or Moon Knight Epic Collection 1?
>>

Moon Knight is my shit.
>>
>>85968458
Fuck is academy x about?
>>
>>85970910

Bunch of mutants in training at the Xavier Academy.

It was originally branded as New Mutants vol 2, but was renamed Academy X quite early in the run.
>>
>>85970258
Moon Knight, the Library editions for dark horse, while being beautiful, are fuckhuge and over cumbersome to handle and read unless you like reading all your shit on a table and not on your lap.
