Yeah, I know. Best female comic in the last two decades.
If you're not reading Gotham Academy, then you should be.
The Ballad of Halo Jones
No joke, one of my favorite Alan Moore works.
>>85895232
the main character ain't even a girl, it's that super unlikable and uncharismatic guy
>>85894728

Man that was a fun comic. DC was hitting out of the park from mid to late 2000's
Yeah but they're from Japan
>>85894593
>>85895826
damn, i was going to list each one of these. i will only add Chris Ware's Building Stories, Ghost World, Persepolis and Nausicaa (although that's technically /a/).
actually, i would put Building Stories on the top of all of these listed, if i needed to rank them. since the "story" is fairly directionless and non-linear, it's pretty much ONLY about character development and evoking emotion/empathy.
Black Angel
>>85899180
>American Vampire
>Tokyo ghost
>>85899406
also
>clean room
I'd say Saga is "good". It's not fantastic by any stretch of the imagination but it's not bad.
Most Supergirl comics
the mid 00's Power Girl
Gwenpool
Slott's She-Hulk
Mid 00's X-Men (becomes X-Men Legacy) which pretty much stars Rogue
Actually, a lot of X-Men stories have strong female presence in them.
>>85894593
Miss don't touch me
Beauty
Beautiful Darkness
That one with the hot nanny and the prepubescent dream genius with steampunk for no reason

>>85894593
Exiles
You owe yourself to read it, but stop past at issue # 83 and read #100.
I liked her better as Thong Girl, but she's good fully clothed too.
>Zatanna and powergirls last ongoings were pretty good.

>The new superwomen is pretty promising.
>A few of the mlp comics are great but unless your interested in the setting its not really worth wading through the mediocrity
>Kamala ms marvel is pretty good when not dealing with civil war 2
>Ostrander squad is great if you consider waller the protagonist

>>85895936
Little Dot is shit compared to Nancy.
>>85894593
Don't say Uncle Nonny never did anything for ya
No OP, there are none. None in the entire world, no good comics starring women exist. I hope this helps you.
>>85894593
I literally can't think of one. My friend really likes I Kill Giants, but I haven't read it. A lot of really shit taste in this thread, though.
>some """guy""" telling others to read Gotham Academy
Jesus Christ.

Have you tried reading comics not associated with Diamond yet?
octopus pie
MOTHER FUCKIN RAT QUEENS
Lunella
I like:
Strangers in Paradise
Echo
Rachel Rising
All by fenomenal Terry Moore.
>>85894593
Not in the west. Feminism has irrevocably poisoned that well. There barely even are any female main characters, mostly just men with tits. Try East Asian comics.
there's plenty if you think outside the big 2
>>85895728
You suck, your memes suck and that comic sucks too.
>>85899180
He said "female" main character anon.
>>85906149

there's more to western comics than DC and Marvel. Actually if you consider the whole comics industry those 2 aren't even that big in the medium.
>>85894593
>>85894593
Freaks Squeele i guess.
>>85894593
Bomb Queen
Unsounded has the best female lead.Fight me in real life.
What's the name of that comic with the girl who's on a revenge rampage? Someone was posting scans a few weeks back.

>Tokyo Ghost
>Gotham Academy
>The first 8 issues of Saga
>>85894593

Going to have to be more specific there anon. "Chapter seeks revenge" is at least 60% of all comics
>>85906888
hey trips, not only comics, but in all other midias it is fairly common
>>85906888

Derelict volume 1
Girl Genius
Gunnerkrigg Court
Octopus Pie
Scarygoround

>>85899180
Shit's so awful it almost makes me like muslim ms marvel by comparison. Hell I'd rather see a movie about the brown bitch than this bitch since she's just that awful now.
>>85905570
I can't seem to find this comic to download it..want to read it. Ron Marz and Rockafort are both great
Witchblade
Anyone who hasn't read Bandette yet needs to.
>>85909031
The Bandette/Spider-Man crossover was great.

KSBD is the only webcomic I can stomach where there's a slight feminist undertone to it.
Every other is basically this.
Ms. Marvel is good.
>>85909723
Indeed.
Freaks' Squeele.
> amazing art
> fun story
> french
> fully translated to english
Also seconding Miss Don't Touch Me.
And if we are talking Kerascoet, Beauty and Beautiful Darkness both have female protagonists and are greatand will probably make you miserabletoo.
>>85909749
The hell?
>>85909749
But that was All-New, All-Different Avengers.

>>85909749
That's not from Ms Marvel
>>85913806
>I'm not fat, I'm big boned.
Oldest excuse in the fucking book, hell that's older than comic books itself.
>>85908456
You are a terrible terrible person but you're not wrong
>>85895860
I don't get it
>>85894593
no, female characters make for shit leads, and their titles suck by extension as a result
but on a serious note
Brian Azzarello's run on Wonder Woman was pretty good
>>85906773
>triggered
>>85913806
>i don't have superpowers because patriarchy
>>85894593
>>85894617
>The best female lead comics are horror/gothic comics
>>85908885
Other than these Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Jennifer Blood, and Emily the Strange.
>>85913964
becaus muh social justice
>>85913964
>jean grey
Her solo was great.
Outside of it she's half arm-candy, half brainwashed into destroying the universe. 10/10 role model.
>>85894593
>>85913806
This has to be in the top 20 or so most retarded comic pages in history.
Female super heroes exist. They've always existed. They exist even though girls have always and will always buy super hero comics at far lower rates than guys do.
>>85913806
Has anyone read that Amanda Conner comic from Aftershock that is basically this premise stretched out into a full series? Might be what OP wants.
My Life as a Teenage Robot
No-one likes Silk? I've only read pre-Secret Wars, but those were good.
Marvel Zombies from SW (Elsa Bloodstone) was also good.
>>85895936
Hmmm -8 hasn't done anything with this girl. Should we tell him?
>>85905427
Seems fair to me, however it doesn't triple her stomach nor lung capacity so while she may be taking in 3x what he does per sip, that doesn't necessarily mean she'd consume 3x the amount he will.
>>85916748
CabrĂ³n, this was intended for kids.
>>85914031
what's it from then?
>>85915453
>Jimmy Corrigan
>Buddy Bradley
>That fucker with the big hair who's name I can never recall
Fantagraphics got some really good free PR in that show.
>>85907291
Just read it, Kerascoet's style does the story well. Blanche here also has no fucking chill, it's great and I feel for the poor girl.
>>85894593
Ghost World
Love and Rockets
This is the Last Day of Your Life
Megg, Mogg & Owl
Calling Dr. Laura
The Property
Melody - The Story of a Nude Dancer
Life with Mr. Dangerous
Drinking at the Movies
The Infinitive Wait
Sacred Heart
There's a ton out there. You just have to start reading comics aimed towards adults and not geek culture oriented kiddie shit.

Thanks sempai.
>>85917327
The chick is also seen reading several L&R collections, iirc all that stuff is from the producers that they just stuffed into the background or as props
>>85918341
I'll add that it was also not quite straightforward as it was partially a joke about shitty fanfics anyway. The context is that it seemed like a normal story up to that point before they shoved in their opinions at the end (though of course part of the joke is the type of opinion that the fanfic writer is portrayed as having, obviously it's strawmanning things a little).
>>85914618
The "strong" in "strong female character" means that she's strong as a character in storybuilding terms. She has a personality, a backstory, fleshed-out relationships, and development throughout the piece of media.
Often "strong" is misinterpreted as "power fantasy".
