That said Murdoc has the most character of the band but he's pretty much had the most oppurtunities to set himself apart. Meanwhile poor Russ has barely had anytime to build his character.

It's a shame really. He has a great voice and his interaction with the undead, from taxidermy to possession, makes him interesting in the group dynamics. For a while the Gorillaz felt like a broken ass family with Murdoc as the shit dad and Russell as the older brother who was actually big enough to bust him up from time to time. You'd think they'd play that up more since 2D is still getting shat on by Murdoc.
