This.

He worked odd jobs and got his first million thanks to his Gold Mining in Alaska, after that he invested smart and augmented it with several Treasure Hunts,he also started exploting natives but eventually cleaned up his act.

He made it "square" by anarcho-capitalist Jon Galt/Andrew Ryan rules.
>>
>>85834193
well, he was born in the 1800s Scotland, I guess by THAT standards it was actually square and fair.

What bothers me is that via various crossovers duckburg has been established to be in the same world as Brer Rabbit's fairytale forest.
Which is where different anthropomorphic animals live in various degrees of animal savagery (Brer himself in a freaking hole in the ground) and try to fucking eat each other!

It looks like dog people and waterfowl people have created a fairly sophisticated society that the lesser races have no place in.

First he went to the Amazon and collected diamonds and battled headhunters and snakes. Then he went to the Himalayas and fought yeti to collect gems. Then it was off to the Mines of Africa to gather Diamonds. Then he took a trip to Transylvania to find riches and battle mummies and Magica De Spell. Finally, he took a rocket to the moon to fight space aliens and find moon Diamonds.

And some of it really was actually more or less fair and square, in the Yukon. He had to break some heads to get it back at least once, and to generally defend what was his, but that was fair and square back then.

There wasn't a lot of law and order on the ground, so people did for themselves.

Of course, it was considerably less bloody than in real life, but that's to be expected. People got shot and stabbed in mining camps and mining towns over gold constantly. It was like, Tuesday when several people got shot.

I'd read the SHIT out of a gritty comic about the topic of the Gold Rush and a gold camp or town, or a camp that turned into a town/etc.

You'd have your action, your scheming, your prostitutes, all kinds of fun. In many locations also drama (and a lot of tragedy) with the native Indians. The disaster of alcoholism, rampant disease, gold miners being shitbags, provoking the Indians so they retaliated, and then running screaming to the U.S. Cavalry about "Murderin Savages" so they came and wiped them out.
>>
>>85834463
Isn't that the general conceit behind Westerns

>I'd read the SHIT out of a gritty comic about the topic of the Gold Rush and a gold camp or town, or a camp that turned into a town/etc.
I'm quite sure there is such comics in Europe.

Why does that bother you? It's no worse than Looney Tunes.

Sometimes the forest village is literally called the "settlement": which could refer to any built-up community in the forest/swamp, but also implying an attempt to settle or civilize a previously primitive region. That seems to fit: the community is one step more primitive than Duckburg and Mouseton, insofar as its characters have more obvious animal instincts.

And while the "settlement" community has developed to a stage in which eating other characters is perceived as bad/uncivilized, some are still compelled to do it (and some traditional carnivores, like Zeke Wolf and Brer Fox, treat it as a proud old custom).

Mining Gold in Klondike
>>
Scrooge first started as a shoe shiner, moved to 'Murica (the land of Opportunity as he calls it) and started to work as a captain of a steam boat, digging gold and that sort of stuff. In the Yukon he made his first million bucks and he brought the Money Bin dirt cheap, so he moved there and started his company.

But stories in duckburg are always pretty down-to-earth. Often they will explicitely reference real world concepts and visit those places. Basically, ducks and dog-people are humans in everything but appearance. Either foxes and wolfs are just less evolved or cannibalism is just a thing that nobody is stopping.

Hard work, determination at first.
Then that plus luck and contacts.
Then he veered off the straight path and started doing crooked business.
Then he went back to doing straight business.
>>
The Duck family is easily the best part of the Mickey universe, hands down. Scrooge is probably top tier Disney character.
