If Nickelodeon had the balls to make this a good, solid, ultimate enemy-esque action cartoon, this could be the best show to come out of the decade. But they don't, it'll never happen

I wish this show had been created developed by someone other than Hartman. His artstyle is too stiff and really doesn't work for an action cartoon.

Rewatching it I think the writing and dialogue is weak but one thing it has is the perfect balance between plot and filler.

BUT, I do like how the artist just make Tucker goth and kept his geekiness, then did the logical thing with Danny and had him use his parent's Gadgets.

Danny Phantom was one of my favorite shows as a kid, so I've actually put a bit of thought into how I'd reboot it.

Basically, it's the same story and a lot of characters fit the same roles as they did before, with some minor tweaks.
-Vlad isn't in love with Maddie, nor is he given Ecto-Acne by his experiments with Jack and Maddie, instead he's straight-up launched into the Ghost Zone from college up until the point he's released at the end of the first season. This way he actually seems justified in his anger This would tie into why Ghost-related incidents start occurring as soon as Danny gets his powers, as Vlad now has a way to extend his influence from his imprisonment now that the Fentons have constructed a second working portal to the Ghost Zone.

-The Ghosts not being ghosts actually has an explanation provided. All the little minor ghosts you see floating around the Ghost Zone feed on negative emotions, which is why they cause mischief. Anybody with enough of these feelings when they die becomes a beacon, and they all kind of conglomerate into the person who died, taking on their consciousness/ personality as well, so overall they're not that different from the show. However, as a consequence, pacifying the spirits raging emotions leads to them breaking down into the component mindless specteres that formed them, resulting in a second "death". Leads to a nice emotional moment for the Ghosts that Danny actually manages to help, who don't stick around because they simply can't.

Finally just some story topics I think should have been brought up, or changed.
-Ember is younger, tsundere for Danny.
-Vlad actually has some sympathetic moments
-A ghost actually meets a living relative, that's technically much older than them now.

You know that one episode where Danny and Dash somehow gets shrunk in the middle of preparing for some fitness programme? And Phantom's powers didn't last long and transformed back to Fenton from bottom to top, he ends up wearing sneakers then the jeans and so on? That's exactly what this picture reminded me of.

I kinda like this casual look personally - replace the oval with the 'D' and I would gladly buy + wear a T-shirt like this...desgin would be simplistically cool and neat.

Jazz should have gotten a remake. I figured she would have eventually become her mother and and began paranormal research since Ghosts and the Fenton's science were proven to be correct. He was horrible disfigured in an accident caused by someone he thought to be his friend, due to incompetence and borderline retardation.

Said friend then proceeded to date, plow, and marry the love of his life.

Vlad had no way of knowing he would get ghost powers, and had plenty of time for hate and resentment to fester inside of him before they kicked in. Even after he used his powers to become rich, all of the money in the world couldn't buy Maddie's love.

I'd say his anger was justified. Granted, he could have just got over her and moved on, but its not like Jack did nothing wrong.

First off, I wouldn't want to have Butch Hartman in charge of things. If it's a modern reboot, it'd be best to have a creator that can actually write characters built around modern high school archetypes rather than reusing the same 80's cardboard cutouts Hartman has been coasting on for over a decade now.
