This is the best comic ever
Today's comic.
>>85780629
That cat's not hidden at all.
>This is the best comic ever
Then why isn't it making billions of dollars?
>>85781820
Man the early designs are odd as fuck.
>>85780107
Not enough Seventeen!
Okay /co/ what camper do you relate the most if at all?
Or alternatively
What scene or moment did you relate to?Be honest
>>85782676
When I was a child, I drew some boobies. Circles with dots in the middle. The other guys were fully enthralled with the illustration. One of them took the paper home with them.
>>85782676
>What scene or moment did you relate to?
Probably Malachi going through the talent show auditions and realizing there is in fact nothing he is better than anyone else at.
Have you even been to a camp?
>>85783120
We don't have that shit in Bongland. I'm conflicted how to feel about that, I can see that it kinda looks fun, but I think my maladjusted and awkward child self would probably have been terrified and felt horribly alone.
>>85783227
Man me too, I would have been terrified and bullied to hell.
>>85783120
Se have something that is kinda similar but not really. They are decent experience I guess. I was a total brat though. But it taught me to be better
>>85780107
needs to be a banner
>>85783814
Did the /co/ banner contest already finished? Is it still not done?
>>85783120
I wish. It seems fun. My parents kept me locked inside until highschool graduation.
Is there organized camps for college aged people. I don't want to be a counselor to experience it.
>>85784074
You can sign up for "team building" retreats, where people that never met you will ask you to play simple games and then tell you that you're awesome.
>>85784065
>She looks like a giant fron the thumbnail
I think there's still very little fanart of CW.
Not enough nudity.
>>85782676
I hate to admit, I relate a lot with Malachi, most obnoxious traits.
>>85784131
That sounds... okay, I guess?
>>85784294
>Camp Getchakitoff
I'd actually like Camp Weedonwantcha to remain purewell except for Purdy, but I know the likelihood of that happening is slim. At least I hope the threads won't just become constant degeneracy like some. Seventeen especially is too pure for this world. Can she be our Yotsuba and we'll at least promise not to degrade her and frown on anyone who does?
>>85784357
That's a genuinely good banner, you should submit it.
>>85784074
>My parents kept me locked inside until highschool graduation
Could anon be a candidate for CW at some point?
>>85780629
I like that Malachi and Linus still get along. It's nice that he has a friend who isn't a main character.
>>85781749
There have been several strips where the cat was in plain sight.
Your reaction when Seventeen's family is walking distance from the camp?
Seventeen is cute.
>>85784811
It's a natural adaptation that her species uses to aid survival.
>>85784583
>That's a genuinely good banner, you should submit it.
How? It doesn't show an option.
Think some of them will end up at the same orphanage when law enforcement inevitably stumbles upon this camp?
>>85784583
A balance can be mantained. CW is not gonna be exempt of lewd much less in 4chan, but so far I think it hasn't gone overboard.
The two previous threads were good.
I'm just glad Katie's works are getting more attention.
>>85784701
>Linus
I find him very boring.
I think CW and Nedroid are the only two geniunely funny webcomics
>>85785225
Yes, a very crappy and shady one with a very big yard.
>>85785813
Lori best waifu.
>>85784065
Keep her pure anon, or brian will get you
>>85785586
Was this part of a patreon comic or something?
I'm pretty sure I haven't seen that sex discussion comic on the actual website ever.
>>85786111
It's a guest comic Katie did for Penny Arcade. For a week, many of the Strip Search dudes made a strip about (was it Gabe's or Tycho's?) kid visiting their comic to learn about sex.
So you can find it in the PA site.
>>85786118
>>85785972

>"I'm gonna get a beer. Be right back."
>He never came back.

She's second behind Lori.

You are so funny anon.
>>85786628
Let's see, there's the kid pushed to a spiky stone, the kid that fell from the zip lines, the grave being dug by Jonhy Goodchild.
Which else?
>>85786798
shes taking it better than chef boy'r d
>>85787425
Zip line kid shows back up, eventually.
>>85787098

>>85789314
Not talking about the ones you saw. There was one that was never shown.
>>85789515
he was in the well
>>85783120
Boy scouts, was a good time. If you don't mind living in the woods for a week or two, you can pretty much do whatever you want all day. most camps are built around waterfronts, which was my favorite part.
>>85785225
>orphanage
They don't actually have these anymore. Same foster parents maybe. Of course this assumes the camp isn't like the island from Lost, outside the reach of normal society.
>>85783120
they're not a thing here, but i went to several christian scout camps
not bad, but also not that great
>>85783120
I was in a "travel camp" for a couple of summers. It was mostly overnight trips to nearby cities and/or amusement parks, but we did stay at a couple of sleepaway camp type places. For an indoorsy kid let me tell you those were awful. Give me a science museum any day.
Will we ever actually see the parents/seventeens family again?
I doubt we'll just be seeing the kids mess around and have hints of their lives before forever.
What do you guys want to see?
>>85790954
brians reason for getting camped
>>85790954
Maybe more of them will end up at camp.
>>85791112
I'm almost willing to bet that he just found the camp one day while hiking or something and decided to stay and help just because he's such a nice guy.Either that or he was absolutely HULK tier angry and destructive which is why he now does nothing but meditate when he's not hanging out with his friends.
>>85785586
It fills me with such joy to know that my crappy edit was saved by someone else.
>>85783120
I never did, always preferred to stay home and watch TV
>>85780107

>>85793480
Camp We Don't Want You
Misfit kids are left there with no supervision.

That was a great thread.

>law enforcement finds the camp and rescue the kids, finds no trace of why they are there
>they are all sent to the same, very shady orphanage
>turns out the group managing CW is Hydra levels of big and interconnected
>the kids are 'transfered to another facility which is just another camp before they can contact all the parents
>>85788221
of what?
Okay let's settle this once and for all. Which is the better one, Anne or Lori.
Reply to this post with your answer.

>>85796113

Fairy Queen concepts.
>>85797223

>>85797297
Katie's the master of cute. Funny cute.
In fact that's the name of her first now deceased blog.
>>85795378
Fusion!
Katie's like a conduct of cute.
>>85797392
There are still fusion threads, maybe it could be requested.
>>85797493
Who would be #3? Purdy? Malachi? Seventeen? Tanner? Skadi?
>>85797558
Lucy.
>>85797558
I'd go with Purdy, for more variation in the design and complete the teen deliquent thing trio.
>>85797806
Oh, yeah that makes sense. Ok, then second fusion: Seventeen, Olivia, and Lucy. All the innocent ones.
>>85796356
Kennedy is too high and mighty
>>85797958
You are quite right, they are beneath her.
Fanart.
>>85796685
By the way, does anyone have links to these dreawings specially the ones in the bottom?
Okay, In some of the sketches I posted there was some Katie caricatures.

christian camp
in retrospect i don't think i ever truly enjoyed myself there save for one year
but it's in the mountains where it's cool so it beat dying of heat in the suburbs
City kid here. Never been to camp. But I went to a school travel, where we stayed in some boyscouts cabins and did activities/visited the neighboor city in the day. We did burn marshmallows in the stove to pretend we were on a camp like in the movies with my bother.
>>85780107
Will Nieman ever get a backstory?
>>85800310
Brian's backstory is coming next, according to CW's comment section. I imagine most the kids have backstories, but who knows when we'll see them. It seems a lot of stories are planned somewhat in advance given some of the easter eggs leading up to them.
>>85794625
I like them both, but I prefer Lori.
>>85800310
It would be interesting to see whether he went insane after being sent to the camp or was always a creep.
>>85794625
Lori
she has a cute duckface

She's so kind.
>>85799042
It would be nice if it could last until then.
Is it wrong to ship them?
>>85803154
They probably already fucked. A camp full of teenagers without adult supervision, there's bound to be wild, uninhibited, awkward sex going on.

>>85804847
Doesn't it hurt like a bitch, though?
Alright /co/ which has been your favorite arc so far?
I personaly like Purdy's introduction.
>>85783120
Boy Scout camp, probably did it like 4 times. It was fun, but also had some pretty bad experiences. Like the time I Was in a fishing class and I found some kid's tackle box off the trail we were on. It looked as if it had been left there, and no one was around so I opened it up to find a name. The owner of said tackle box appeared seconds later and immediately accused me of trying to steal from it. I barely got any words out before he ran to our counselor like I'd just committed murder. The counselor could tell the kid was bullshitting and he didn't really care thankfully. The rest of the week in that fishing class, I tried to explain myself to the kid and appologize, but he just kept calling me a thief and scowled at me whenever I looked his way.
There were fun times though: roaming around the camp with the other boys and fucking around, telling ghost stories, playing ultimate frisbee, and even some of the merit badge classes could be fun. I both miss and resent those days.
>>85804965
There hasn't been an arc I didn't enjoy, but Seventeen's back-story is probably my favourite. It was sad, but it had a really nice ending.
I'm glad I saved this image from /aco/ before the thread got archived and deleted.
Spoilered just in case
>>85805361
Cute!
>>85805251
Why? Do you plan on using it for edits?
>>85805863
I think by spoilering a non-lewd image that people would presume was lewd, they were making what's commonly known to non-autistic people as a "joke", Anon.
>>85806003
Well, I guess I got brain problems.
>>85805251
Speaking of this. It's no doubt amazing, but it's a shame that the actual pic has so little resolution. You can't really see the girls upclose.
Did the artist ever post clearer pics of the individual girls?
>>85804965
Elephant Candy
>>85806285
Not that I know of.
>>85805863
naw, I'm just a hoarder for art. I like collecting any piece of something with fear of that it may be lost forever on the internet. I used to think that everything online was forever but I learned that that wasn't the case :(
>>85785130
You'll have to wait until /co/'s submission phase in the banner contest. You should also make sure it meets the qualifications to enter.
>>85804965
I have to go with Seventeen's backstory as well.
>>85806684
That's good too. It can be a very comendable thing, if you go the extra mile to spread that which you hoard.
I made the dropbox with the colection of Katie's art which might be lost. But i havent updated it a long time now.

What makes it best is seeing this thread, Googling the name, getting caught up through all the comics from the start, finally making it up to this one, and realizing the punchline isn't nearly as simple as it looked. In fact, it might not even be a joke at all.
>>85808481
Did you enjoy it Anon? I only started reading in the previous thread a few days ago. It's nice to actually read and enjoy a good webcomic with /co/ for a change, instead of shitting all over bad ones.
>>85805361

>>85809630

>>85809758
I wish I could see this design in like a full adult curvy goddess pose. Of course it might be difficult to properly censor an adult body if Seventeen doesn't wear pants.
>>85810167
Your reaction when some kid shows up wearing a helmet in some later issue?
>>85780107
cant brush teh feeling thatALL KIDS IN THAT CAMP ARE ALREADY DEAD, due to parental negligence in one level or the other, therefore the whole place is aDante Purgatoryand I think it has some good potential toillustrate the deaths of kids due to suicide, accidents, murder and all sort of sad shit
>>85810377
Nah, we've seen too many stories about how they arrived at the camp. I would be willing to believe that not a lot of time has actually passed since issue 1, since most of the strips are 20 second slices of an arc that is several strips long.
>>85810377
Shyamalan pls go. Nobody likes that kind of thing any more.
>>85810377
Katie is not enough of a hack to ever write that so don't worry

>>85810561
I dunno man. Have you read skadi?
Any drawfag in here?
>>85810167
So who's the dead guy, army personnel that nobody wanted to rescue, or a skydiver nobody wanted to teach?
>>85812439
I don't know of a military branch with solid brown BDU's and rainbow parachutes. Almost gotta be leftovers from an air show or something.
>>85812185
What about Skadi?
Which by the way is something she draws for fun, unlike CW. The final arc was made between delays and various problems because she was just drawing it in her spare time and wanted to get it out of her system as soon as she could.
>>85812540
That's all well and good I suppose, I just never found it funny or interesting, even just as a gag-a-day turn your brain off kinda comic.
>>85812540
Isn't CW more or less for fun as well? It's not her main job or anything. Although being on penny arcade puts more pressure on it, I suppose.
>>85812734
Yeah, it's not nearly as good as Camp.
Besides, I don't remember the full story, but didn't she start Skadi with a co-author? Why did he leave?
>>85812770
I dunno, I just assume it is her "main" work right now.
>>85812781
yeah she did skadi with her bf but they broke up and she took over for the last few years.
>>85812810
I don't think webcomics pay anything unless you're penny arcade. On her twitter she talks about working on animation work, etc
>>85812858
She could start a patreon, but patreon artists always seem to slow down because they need to fulfill patron rewards every month before they can start on the comic. Look at lackadaisy.
>>85812439
I figure it's not meant to be analysed any deeper than as a Lord of the Flies joke.
>>85794625
bias! that is an early strip.
neither anne's eyes or hair look like that anymore

Your reaction when Tanner has been a girl this whole time?
>>85812185
Such pleb taste.
Post the lewdest page
>>85814967
Hes not a girl, just gay. And I support it.
>>85812770
I thought she was on contract or something. Like, even when Skadi skipped updates, she never failed to put up something for the Camp site at the scheduled times.
Skadi is fantastic. But quite different from CW.
>>85812540
She had other influences back then and has pretty much moved on from Skadi.
>>85815054
I think it's probably >>85814944 or >>85803154.
This isn't exactly a lewd comic.
>>85815059

>>85815335

>>85815335
Puberty hits around 12, anon, even if they aren't sexually active the hormones are already starting to kick in for several of them.
>>85815419
Or maybe you're just a pedo that sees sex everywhere.
>>85812858
Does she mention in what shows she worksbat?/what does she animate?
>>85815581
>Even mentioning the fact prepubescent kids might have sexual thoughts
>Called a pedo
Witch hunt, anyone?
>>85815335
Some of them have shown interest in the opposite sex and even each other, like Lewis having a crush on Kennedy, Avery having a crush on Jeremy, Russell and Darla having their slightly weird moment of mutual attraction and Lewis drawing the nudie pic for some of the other boys. Actually Tanner and Fred were among those kids, pic related. Sorry to sink your ship >>85815059.
None of this means they're sexually active with each other, but kids in the double-digit ages are probably going to be sexually active with themselves. It's not wrong to point out that kids have sexualities anon, do you not remember being one yourself?
>>85815673
All of this

Serious talk here, is Lucy better off with Lori and Anne or with Marta and Kennedy?
I been thinking this a lot because at the beginning Marta and Kennedy were presented as bitches, and Lori and Anne chill cool girls, but were M&K would lie and manipulate L&A would get ticks in the ears and scorpion stinks in the lips.
>>85821042
Are you triple-shipping, or just clique building?
>>85821042
In my opinion, I'd rather get stung by scorpions and do other stupid shit with people who are friendly and likable than do whatever lame shit with negative bitches who sap the very life force out of you with their bullshit. You still have to use your own judgment though.
>>85821325
clique building
basic bitches or dangerous popular girls
>>85820764
Well, no longer having to see her awful family would certainly help. But realistically the trauma would still make Clarissa bitter and defensive as fuck.
>>85821502
She's already bitter and defensive.
>>85824152
Well yeah. I mean she would remain like that even in the camp.
But maybe you are right, the friendlier ambient of the camp could make Clarissa happier and get out of her defenses. After all she was very eager to make friends in the 'take me to work' arc,
>>85804871
Only a little more than stubbbing your toe.
>>85815904
Her work in Mighty B! And El Tigre was waaayy before starting Camp.
>>85817323
Looks fantastic!
>>85819848Clarisa would get fucked by her dad in the bathroom, while Seventeen plays with the stuffed animals in her room. And then Clarissa goes back to her room, and sits quietly while Seventeen continues to be adorable.
>>85826460
According to IMDB she was on Fanboy and Chum Chum and the Kung Fu Panda show.
>>85780107
So I just binged the whole thing from this morning until right now. Excusing various things I did. One of the few comics that never lost it's tone and kept simple. Not really sure how the camp is even functional, I get if the kids are left in an abandoned camp. But then why is there government packages?
Seventeen is pretty adorable
Brain is a straight up G
Malachi is petty but lovable. I can't really complain about an other camper for that matter.
>>85828018
They aren't really useful packages, just random crap. Maybe the military practices dropping random worthless crates over some designated zone.
>>85828322
That's... actually one of the most reasonable theories I've heard.
>>85820545
The talk about Clarissa and seeing this strip at the same time makes me wonder if Brian's backstory might be the darkest of all. He really, violently doesn't like anybody preying on innocent kids or animals and I can't shake the feeling that's down to personal experience.
>Brian was an abused kid
>got sent away when he got old and strong enough to fight back
So the camp (with the function it now serves) can't have been around too long right? Proto Kid is still pretty young, and no one left there has aged too much into their teens yet.
And yes, I'm assuming they CAN age, because those theories about a time pocket or purgatory are retarded.
>>85830305
Colin and Linus seem to be the oldest, it feels like they've been there a while and settled into almost adult roles in the community (while still being slightly oddball mid-to-late teens). Of course age is no actual indication of how long the campers have been there, as some will have arrived younger than others.
I think we can kinda discount Proto Kid when theorising, since he seems possessed/magical anywayis Neiman going the same way I wonder? If I had to ballpark a figure, I'd guess the camp has been running in its current form maybe 3-4 years, given the ages of the kids (as you've said), how long some of them appear to have been there and also the obvious fairly long gaps between arrivals.
>>85826865
Do you think the dad would start noticing seventeen?
>>85829663
It's a possibility.
>>85828018
>Brain
>>85831321
I don't necessarily mean sexual abuse, just more like maybe he was constantly beaten and then one day got strong enough to actually win against his abuser. That's what happened to my dad and that's when my grandfather stopped beating him.
>>85821042
I'd say she's better off with Anne and Lori.
>>85821042
At present, Lori and Anne. I think Lucy is clever enough not to do the dumb things they do. At least they're friendly.
It's kinda refreshing to see the "outsiders" like Marta and Kennedy portrayed as facilitators of their own ostracism rather than that being the fault of the "in" crowd, but maybe now they realise that their actions have consequences.

>>85783227
It's actually intensely liberating for an awkward kid. Basically you have three weeks (or whatever) of interacting with a group of humans you will never see again. You can experiment freely with being someone else entirely. Nobody there knows you, nobody will say any different, and in three weeks even if you fuck it up, nobody is going to care.
>>85784149
What of it?
>>85834694
>You can experiment freely with being someone else entirely. Nobody there knows you, nobody will say any different, and in three weeks even if you fuck it up, nobody is going to care.
Yeah, I mean that's the way you can look at it as a rational adult who understands to some extent socialising and human behaviour. But I don't think as a kid any of those things would have occurred to me.
I still find it an interesting idea though. Are camps properly out in the wilderness? That would be kinda cool for kids to experience, especially city kids. And where does it seem like Camp Weedonwantcha is located, I'm guessing the Pacific Northwest from the pine trees and the Pumas?

>>85825962
I can corroborate. I got my big toe smashed in a gym class one. It certainly hurt, and it was fairly sour for awhile, but it wasn't the sort of pain one might associate with a piece of your body getting knocked off.
And I can agree the toenail regrowing was fascinating, especially because it didn't really hurt despite looking like it probably should.
>>85850130
>fairly sour
Obviously, I meant sore, but I should probably correct it before anyone assumes I did something gross with the toe or discarded toenail.
>>85834065
Yeah, I noticed too.
>>85804871
Nah, more than that if it's the big toe. Since you have the weird feeling of the under area being exposed as well. It's really tender until the nail grows back.

I'm enjoying this series but part of me is waiting for social services to show up or these kids to just leave camp, and come back with help.
Education wise these kids are pretty fucked, but I can see 70% trying to get a GED as adults. I'm sure camp has made all of the self sufficient and part survivalist. Seventeen is the only I can't see being able to adapt. I think she has fully envelope camp and no desire to leave. Those girls who use flower petals for eye lashes (if they are somehow able to get in) will probably go pretty far in fashion with nature theme clothes ect.

Is this comic very popular? Has Katie ever considered pitching it as a cartoon series?
>>85873942
She's said that she wouldn't mind turning it into a cartoon, but the right network would need to pick it up and understand that it isn't a kid's show despite being a show about kids at a camp. The subject matter is a tad mature for young kids, since it deals with child abandonment and their survival and maturity in the wilderness.
Probably on Adult Swim.
>>85874024
>>85873942
The TV industry is a whole can of whorms to Katie.
so i just started reading is there a way to get the website to NOT snap downwards whenever the comments appear or am i just autistic?
So is there any basis to the rumor that John K gave Katie the casting couch?
>>85874656
The world may never know, but supposedly he knew her since she was a child, which would make that even creepier.
>>85874453
Dude, same here. I accidentally ended up on the 'meet the campers' page so many times, jeez.
>>85874656
She's made vague comments online that seem to confirm that he was an inappropriate boss, and yeah, the stuff where he talked to her when she was like 13 is creepy. best analog for what would happen is that storyboarder that Skyler Page supposedly groped. She was being quiet about it, out of respect for the fact he was having a breakdown. But her landwhale feminist friend started blabbing about it on social media because she wanted people to see her being offended. Next thing you know, all the feminist landwhales were screaming for his head, and Skyler Page is pretty much blackballed in the industry.

>>85873942
>>85874024
Much as I love it as a comic, I really don't think CW would work as a cartoon. I think it would really struggle to find an audience because it's not for kids but at the same time, it's nowhere near as "adult" (by which I mean sex, violence and swearing) as people are used to animation for adults being, certainly in the US. I think that's a shame, but that's the way things are at the moment.
I suppose it could be viewed as something like maybe KotH or The Critic in that regard, but the fact that unlike those shows it has no adult characters for an adult audience to identify with (they're dealing with kid problems not adult problems) I think would switch of a lot of the audience.
>>85874453
I actually turned my monitor into portrait mode to read it because of this. It's pretty annoying. I think it's because the comments are hosted by some other blogging/comment platform and have to load in separately.

I'm not sure I would return to civilisation if I was in his or Colin's position. If you were sent there as a kid, you're going to have no qualifications. Clearly your family doesn't want you. You'd probably just end up on welfare or in a dead end job in a shitty apartment in a bad part of town.
I think I'd rather live rent free innawoods with other kids and teens I could call my friends, even if it meant going hungry from time to time.

Katie has had bad experience with TV cartoon industry practices ever since EL Tigre cancelation and onwards. She really wouldn't want her creative vision to be censored and changed.
I think that's actually one of the main reasons she actually went and did the whole Strip Search deal. Sure she can keep working in TV animation, but in comic form she can have an audience for her creative output.

>>85887345
This is the problem with people when it comes to adopting, you only want the young adorable children that you can still mold. It's the kitten vs adult cat argument.
You always ignore the troubled teenagers that desperately need guidance and someone to love them despite their behavioral problems. I think it should be a rule that when adopting multiple children, you're required to take in one teen.
