We already know why it's there. It's there to keep the Annan Waters as a barrier between the Court and the Forest. That's why Jeanne exists at all.

If she gets passed into the ether, there's no longer anything stopping the Forest from invading the Court. Coyote is bound to be up to some shit.

I also have long suspected that everything I've just described would trigger the beginning of the end of the comic. I wonder if GC's endgame isn't much, much closer than Tom is letting on.

This was already discussed in the previous thread. Removing the arrow will cause no threat from the Forest.

In case some had forgotten IT WAS COYOTE WHO SEPARATED THE COURT FORM THE FOREST.

What the Court did with Jeanne was basically a "Y...You too", a kneejerk reaction to showcase that if Coyote could put a barrier, so could the Court.

But none of the habitant of the forest would disobey from his edicts and those foolish enough to disobey it after the arrow removal would have to deal with Ysengrin (if they are lucky) or Coyote himself (for the unlucky one).

It's actually even more pathetic than that, because the barrier established by Jeanne is meaningless to the one power it was supposed to stop: Coyote.

The guy simply doesn't give a fuckabout whatever protection the Jeanne ghost might be, and can just come over and topple buildings if he feel like it.

The Annan Waters were a meaningless attempt at displaying the power of the Court by scarifying one of their own.
