Nah, it was pretty good. Decent song, great animation thanks to the guest animator, plot was kinda ass in the beginning but the twist that the focus was really on Steven rather than Connie was awesome.

I mean, doing what you had to do for the war is one thing but...

1. Uses Steven as a way to "become anything" as described in Greg the Babysitter rather than simply wanting a child. Essentially, not only is she using Steven as a means to escape the consequences of what she's done, good or bad.
2. Even long after the war, Rose never told what little remained of the CGs the truth about Bismuth.
3. Steven, as a kid, is left having to not only the responsibility of training his mother's powers in protecting the earth, but also the responsibility all of the things she did in the past.

We don't know enough about Gem culture to determine this. Maybe it dates back to a time when the Gems were religious. Maybe they just called it how they saw it and called it the Moon Goddess statue because it looked like a moon goddess. The reality of the situation is that it's a relic from when the show was getting established and straddling the magic/technology line. Just like how Pokemon Red and Blue imply there was a recent war involving Pokemon. The setting was just getting established and they weren't sure where they wanted to go with certain stuff.

Garnet definitely isn't above fucking with people but this is most likely also another remnant from when the show was still in its childhood and the path they wanted to go on wasn't set in stone.

We have a lot of info on this already. The laser light cannons seem to be the pinnacle of old Gem technology. The hand ship shrugs them off like nothing and the Roaming Eye seems to travel FTL with some sort of space-warping ability.

I kinda liked it, Garnet sounded like shit cuz Rebecca just doesn't know how to make songs for her voice and Connie's problem was weak, but the main thing in this episode at the end was that sneak peek into Steven's mind, he knew he was gonna break down, that just shows how stressed the kid is and how hard the boy tries to bury the thoughts inside his mind, and we finally see his personal depiction of Rose after the reveals we got in Beta and Back to the Moon, a grim figure that he knows nothing about, his life and his family's life revold around her, he owns his existance to her yet he freaking fears her to some extent, that just shows how bad of a time he is having yet he keeps it to himself because a single bit of doubt towards Rose would be an insult to Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst, or at least he feels like that.

This episode I feel wasn't really about fusion or Connie, but about Steven finally sharing his doubts with someone, if he hadn't gone throught that fusion session with Garnet and if he hadn't failed to keep the thing buried inside of his mind as Stevonnie he would have never opened up to no one, so this was necessary for his mental health.

He's the main character and his problems aren't going to be solved in an episode unlike Connie's - there's absolutely nothing to suggest that these things are never going to be addressed again. The episode ends with Stevonnie saying "I'm here, " meaning Connie will support him, but things like finding a cure for the corruption and dealing with HW are major plot points. This ep was pretty much a teaser of what we're going to delve into in the near future.

The entire point is that Connie's problem is small and insignificant. That's why Ruby is freaking out over a single butterfly while Sapphire tries to pretend the entire swarm hasn't surrounded her, and is only freed with Ruby's help. Connie deals with her tiny problem but Steven is the one with real issues, and learns to move past them with Connie's help.
