The whole thing was basically just intended as Marvel's final fuck you to Todd McFarlane. It's not actually meant to be read and enjoyed. They fucked her up right off the bat and each successive writer made a game of seeing how much more they could fuck her shit up than the last one.

As someone unfamiliar with the char, I liked Asgard's Assassin alright. But Queen of Hel managed to fuck up despite great art mainly because the writer is a cunt. The story and dialogue writing just start shit and go down from there.
The idea was rock solid, even.
But she just cared more about a feminist chip on her shoulder than about writing a coherent story. And the artists tried their best to salvage it, but there is only so much you can do when the writer crawls up her own asshole.
It's a lesson in the importance of reliable writers, really.

As someone who loves sci-fi, fantasy, strong female characters, and LGBT shit:
I didn't like this book.

It'd occasionally have nice moments, but it was a dull cameo show with Angela being the blandest and dullest character in her book. Sara, her lady fair, frustrated the crap outta me with her never ending Right Readers and fourth wall crap.

Also I guess the two adopted a dimensionaly displaced lesbian daughter that I was supposed to care about without any reason given in the book itself.

Also, she never assassinates anyone for Asgard nor does she do anything as Queen of Hel except abdicate the throne 10 minutes after obtaining it.

IIRC it was a gradual process. First issue was memeless, second just had a Shakira reference on the recap page, third had these 3 cringe panels, and by the time we get to six the cancer's terminal.
