Just goes to show that Wolverine-style powers aren't potent enough by themselves to actually beat a well-trained fighter. Though maybe that's not fair since Danny kind of is right at the top of the list in terms of hand to hand combat skills in Marvel.

You can't even argue that it's just Sabertooth jobbing because both instance were written by Claremont, literally the other X-Men author to offer anything remotely like consistency for the characters of that franchise.

I've always liked Sabertooth, every cast needs a pure vicious sadist among all the super scientists and sympathetic villains that fill up space in capeshit

However this turns a lot of people off too, same reason lots of people hate Carnage, there are some people who either just don't like actual dark characters and want more family friendly stuff and other people who think it's a gimmick and "boring" and prefer all their villains to be deep sympathetic characters because you know, tried and true spcoppaths don't exist in real life....every badboy has a soft side!
