Sardonyx is annoying. I hate her episodes.

They started off a new season with bullshit filler that had nothing to do with anything other than "here's a new thing that the audience already knows but these characters dont"

I didn't get where they were going with it until the end. It was a bit clever.

It took me a rewatch to understand Sardonyx didn't believe the yoyo was a weapon and thought it was just a giant toy.

I figured they would have got it from when Smoky was talking about beating Jasper the first time but I guess Garnet and Pearl were too excited to actually listen.

I was a bit surprised with how self-absorbed and unperceptive Sardonyx was.
But it's interesting to see an insecure fusion, because I'd begun to assume confidence was an inborn trait of fusions.

I would've liked more explanation for how Steven can fuse with other Crystal Gems in the first place. I mean, he's got a human body; it makes sense that he can fuse with humans, since controlling organic matter is one of his main powers. How is he suddenly able to mix his body with a Gem's holographic body? What is Smoky Quartz even made of? What would a destabilizer do to them?

Well, if you had actually looked, you would have seen that Amy envelopes his body. You see him basically pop out in Earthlings as they unfuse.
The reason he couldn't do it before is likely twofold.
First, the Gems didn't get him, and he didn't get them.
Second, they basically jump into each other, which doesn't work with flesh.
