Well hey, that was cool, and i'm intrigued in the story now.

Wish the combat clips were a lot less jump-cut-y, but it's top quality animation if nothing else.

Critics are hammering it for it's dense lore I guess, but I got what I needed to know out of that 12 minute clip, so i'm guessing the rest of the movie get's bogged down in some way?
Oh well. Looks neat anyways.

They haven't actually been working on it that long. Active development on it only began around 2012-2013. Up until then, the project was officially "in development" but no one was doing any real work on it.

I thought it was /a/? Either way, I'm curious. I am disappointed that the game removed Stella but other then that I haven't followed the game too heavily.

I wish they would adapt popular FF games instead of making these original movies or movies based on new games.

No, you really really don't want them to make another FF7 movie, or any other movie for that matter.

It's been years, sure, and they've come a long way, but something about this is still so "Spirits Within" in how it's a bunch of characters I don't quite care about doing shit I wouldn't understand if I wasn't paying attention to the game.

That's likely why critics are hammering it to be honest. It's not their job to pay attention to the literal fucking decade of drip-fed information all the fans have devoured like starving dogs.

Spirits Within was a bad a movie and flopped. A better example would be Advent Children which was fine.

I'm being 100% unironic when I say I enjoyed Advent Children Complete more.

But I liked Advent Children Complete to begin with, and I thought Kingsglaive was great. I just think Advent Children had better fight scenes, which is all either movie is good for. Kingsglaive does get brownie points for actually showing them using magic, though.

Critics bash lore movies and they hated Warcraft. It had it's problems but it deserved a better rating than Xman apoc. Where as Kingsglaive is made for FF fans and no one else. Hell the after credit scene is an intro to the game

I'm looking forward to it cause i enjoy cgi action novies. And i like the use of teleportation fighting in this. Not expecting much but I'm sure i will enjoy it from the 12 minute clip
