I miss the costume.

Garfield was a great Spidey. The casting choices, at least for the first movie were great.

The second movie and the overall direction were just terribad.

That being said, I wonder what's the point of having a young Peter. Considering we're past Civil War and about to enter Infinity Wars, I think you would prefer a somewhat older and more seasoned Spiderman than a fresh one.

If he were to replace the Cap or Iron Man you would need someone who has been fighting for a while, who knows the enemies, who knows the good guys, and who can lead.

Spiderman can stand along characters like those two in the comics, along receiving the respect of big figures such as Reed Richards, Doctor Stranger, Prof. X, Namor and some others, precisely because he's pretty seasoned and can take charge and make really good decisions as a leader, as he's shown many times by now.

MCU's Peter is far too young to be able to take the mantle from Steve or Tony.
