Tim's becoming Robin was directly because of what happened with Jason and there are three continuities at least (New 52 movies, Millarverse and DCAU) where Jason or Tim seemingly don't exist. This isn't so much to say that Tim wouldn't happen anyway (see: DCAU), but it wouldn't have the same impact that it was supposed to. Meanwhile, Damian is arguable, but really works best with Dick, especially since prior to the New 52 Bruce didn't have the patience to deal with him. (And the animated movies dropped the ball hard). I don't need to explain the girls.

Read Batgirl Vol. 1 #1-37, and the Batgirl: Secret Files & Origins #1. #39-57 is Dylan Horrocks run which isn't bad but plagued by bad art at first until #45. #38, 58-73 is Andersen Gabrych's run. It starts out pretty good, but then after #68 it just goes at full speed into a VERY rushed ending.

Avoid Robin #148-151, Teen Titan: Titans East, and Batgirl Vol. 2 #1-6. All of these are either written or co-written by Adam Beechen. It's basically editorial saying, "She MUST TURN HEEL!" And Beechen the writer going, "Okay I haven't read any issues of the character so here we go!"

Beechen pulled a hat trick in destroying Cass and Tim with his Robin run, wrote one of the worst characterizations of Dick in Batgirl V. 2, and thankfully he focused more on his OC which he shoved down our throats in his issues of Countdown and the spin-off mini then ruining Jason.
