Actually it was a pretty obvious rip off from Wally/Linda relationship. Linda was the first woman who didn't buy into Wally's flirts so there was a lot of belligerent tension between them initally. Then there is the whole "find your spitfire"/ "you are my lightning rod" gimmicks. Artemis was also Asian etc.

Batman 60's show never pushed for Dick/Babs. Not even the 70's era comics did much with it. It was the 90's DCAU Batman cartoons that pushed for the pairing, which then made Chuck Dixon do it as well for synergy or whatever.

Either way Dick/Babs was always something unnatural and forced that derailed tons of stuff just so it could happen for shallow/marketing reasons. You can see this because it actually doesn't even matter which Robin they push together with Babs. In the Arkham games, for example, just because Tim was the current Robin they made Tim/Babs thing. They just want a Robin/Batgirls thing because they're Batman's sidekicks. That's it.

Clark/Diana is bad because Clark/Lois is very strong and marketable, and because Diana whole thing is that she finds a man that opens her eye about the Men's World and men potential to be good, and while Clark is a swell guy and was raised by humans they never play the relationship with Diana having with an admiration for the Clark side of Superman, but rather her being all about Kal side of Superman.

It's fucking weird when Batman, of all people, think of Superman more as Clark, the nice and sweet farmboy, while Diana most of the time only see the Superman as Kal, the super-powerful alien savior.
