Is it bad my first exposure to Sam & Max was the cartoon and I didn't find out about the comics and games until years later?

Hit the Road is amazing, probably one of the best P&C adventure games ever. The Telltale games are really weak in comparison.

Nah. It was my first exposure, followed by Sam and Max Hit the Road, then Telltale's games. But I think it all pretty much stands the test of time.

Bosco was one of the best parts. A character who is legitimately crazy, but all of his insane, rambling paranoia also manages to be perfectly accurate, if pointless.

I actually put Sam and Max: Freelance Police in the same vein as Freakazoid, in that there was nothing particularly kid unfriendly (save a few prison rape jokes in Christmas Bloody Christmas) but both had a level of humor that was funnier to an older audience, rather than the kid market they wanted.

It was a great move to sidestep the issue of guns by introducing a lot worse weapons into the show. All the comics and games had Sam waving his shooter around like no big deal

I have never seen a single episode of Freakazoid.

So, basically my only knowledge of these 2 is one of the latest series of games i got as a gift.
Is there any comic that is a must read or they are all equally good?
