Thoughts on Silk?

The best Spider book right now.

Shit origin, great book.

But that isn't Spidey.

Peter's book is shit right now. If we're talking about entire histories, Peter's best spider by a long mile, but as for this current moment his book is shit. He deserves so much more.

Pretty tight fampai.

No, I'm talking about Spidey. The book called Spidey.

Amazing is shit, Spidey is good. I still like Silk better though. Interestingly enough, I think Silk and Spidey share the same writer.

I still can't believe Spider-Man/Deadpool is the best Spider-Man comic and Silk is the best supporting comic.
Web Warriors should have been the one.. why did it turn out to be such utter shit?!

Crappy intro; based first volume marred only by the shitty Tana Ford fill in art. Hard dropped the second volume when Ford became regular series artist.
Even worse artistic drop than Rat Queens, imnsho.
One of the best Spider-Books out there today, love Cindy.

As long as Robbie Thompson is writing, it's pretty solid. Silk is a good character for the times, because she's being forced to grow up while clearly lacking the social skills (and social capital) to do so.
Also, the fact that she enjoys taking revenge (and clearly lied to Mockingbird about knowing Gobling King would land safely after she threw him off of a building) is a huge plus in my book.

I hear you. Stacey Lee does the best Silk art, hands down. But Veronica Fish stepped in for a few issues in TPB #1 (which is the second volume), and her art is fairly closely modeled on Lee's. Fish does action scenes a little sharper than Lee, believe it or not.

Lees art seems minimalist yet very highly detailed at the same time, it's fucking great.
