Smoky Quartz looks disgusting

Although it seemed pretty comfortable with being Smoky Quartz and was able to summon a weapon fairly quickly, whereas when Stevonnie first formed, they were fairly disoriented. Same with when Garnet first fused, she seemed pretty unstable and sure of herself.

Has Smoky Quartz been formed in the past with Rose and Amethyst, making it more aware of what it was and it's powers in the first place?

But yeah, I'm pretty sure Jasper will be the first one to be uncorrupted. There's too much development, too much sympathy, too much delicious new info and interest to let her remain bubbled forever

Also, they said something along the lines of "pink quartz plus amethyst equals smoky quartz". Nothing about Steven's potatoness being in there. So I'd assume that Smoky Quartz is formed between Amethyst and Rose.

It depends if it's revealed whether or not Amethyst and Rose fused at any point in the past, though. Their fusion definitely wouldn't have looked like what we got, but what would it look like? Would it be the exact same fusion, or a different form of it?

It's along similar lines of "What if our Sapphire formed with another Ruby". It would be a Garnet, but would that Garnet retain any of the personality traits that our Garnet has? Would it look or act the same?

Don't forget, Steven has theorized in Gem Hunt that he could potentially heal a half corrupted gem who is struggling with its form. Even though he was wrong in the end, I think his theory was forshadowing.

I feel like they went for an "ugly", mutated (only one weird double arm) design deliberately, because the whole point of the fusion is that Amethyst and Steven bonded over being Worst Gems and they were fighting against the "perfect" gem, Jasper. So it was a thematic thing.

Like, if Garnet is the incarnation of a relationship of love, Smoky Quartz is the incarnation of a relationship of "we're both terrible but we've got each other". So, she's not supposed to look good, she's supposed to look kind of ugly and even a little unhealthy, because that's where Amethyst and Steven are at with each other. It's possible that if Amy and Steven level up their self-confidence then she'll look better in the future. We know Garnet apparently changed over the years, and Amy was probably still a bit messed up with her squint and all, too. In any case, if they did deliberately avoid making her look cooler or better, I can respect that.

... Still can't stand to look at Smoky, though, except in a few shots. She's better when she looks more square than round. Plus her emotions didn't fit what Steven and Amethyst should have been feeling, there didn't seem to be much continuity from them to her like we've seen in other fusions. Jokes kind of got old quick, and seemed to be trying too hard. The smackdown she gave seemed like too much as well, she should have been clumsy or something for a little while, like Stevonnie was. It felt like she was handed victory much too easily, like they were trying to create a sense of triumph but it just felt hollow and manufactured.

And I have no idea where those freckles are supposed to have come from.

I'd like to see what the original Smoky Quartz looked like.

I think she's talking about how Rose's interference and the rebellion cause a full-scale war on Earth, which not only led to the deaths of countless Homeworld Gems but resulted in the colony not being fully realized and abandoned. Like how in It Could've Been Great, Peridot showed what the final result of the colony would have been on Earth--the planet would have been completely altered because of the Gem technology. So what Rose "did to her planet" was, from a Gem's point of view, destroyed it since colonization was abandoned. Earth, as-is, isn't her planet. Earth was meant to become what was shown in the hologram plans.
