The bones have no character arc. The plot was pretty generic and often relied on conveniently revealing information. The conclusion was weak and easy.

I don't even remember if they had an actual species name, I just recall everyone calling them either "rat creatures" or "hairy men".

Massive delays around issue #26 which destroyed the momentum of the series and caused people to stop giving a fuck about it

Fucking up the Dragonslayer storyline (Rose was supposed to undergo a major ritual but it was reduced to her just watching her parents be slaughtered off-screen)

Zero movement towards the main arcs

Moving to Image for like 6 issues (Strangers In Paradise did something similar but it was done low key while with Bone, the writer made a huge stink about it which made it leaving Image a big blow to the book)
