Yeah Lapis' integration into the CGs has been incredibly lazy. Which actually surprises me. I thought, considering all the build up, that her integration would have much more time and focus than Peridot. I thought it'd go Jasper > Lapis > Peridot in terms of how long/how intense a redemption is.

But Lapis just kind of got thrown in there. Not only that, they jumped from her to an Amy arc without any resolution of Lapis. And now it seems like they're going to jump to Jasper soon. It's jarring when compared to Peridot, who had a clear and solid arc of redemption/joining.

So the placement of gem and its color is directly related to what diamond planted it, right? With the exception of rubies and peridots, maybe. Even with ocean jasper and biggs jasper it makes sense.
