I still think this kind of approach could work for the MCU. Just have him go 'I can do better' and make a suit that is infused with magic. and then intricately decorated and styled because fuck Tony Stark and his playboy tastes.

Make no mistake, I still think Doom is more intelligent than Tony - maybe. Marginally. In certain ways. But he divides his attention, and you can't be Iron Man AND Doctor Strange.

Doom's armor is pretty fucking good on par with Tony's.

It's mentioned officially before that Doom's is scarily on par with his own. I don't have the image, but it's the one where he gives a review of all of his competitor's armors.

Doom doesn't have the arc reactor tech etc. but his is more inclined with magic, something Tony could NEVER do.
