I just saw the movie and while I enjoyed it, you can really tell that. Basically every flaw (and I really think there were a lot, though it didn't stop my enjoyment of the thing) would have been corrected in another few editing passes without changing anything about the major plot structure.

Ok, ok lets just say everyone did everything on the list. I work closely with actors and I know that you don't get into acting because you want to be a normie. Lots of actors do weird shit to get into character; method acting isn't new or uncommon.

The way I see, yeah I bet they will have some big regrets. This is their lively hood and how they make their money. Going through all of this only to end up with a bad film that probably won't break even is not just a big blow to the director, but everyone involved. Smith and Davis will probably walk away relatively unharmed, but Robbie? Leto? Eastwood, Delevigne, Fukuhara, Kinamman? Probably not. When films do this badly on this much budget, the studios often blame the actors for it. Regardless of what you thought of Leto's Joker, he will undoubtedly go down as the worst live action Joker to date and will probably take tons of blame for the failure. Viola Davis has 13 different major awards and will now have to explain why she thought this was a good idea. Margot Robbie is now a type cast. The rest of the "skwad" will toil in obscurity until someone picks them up and hands them a second chance outside of the hero genre because they probably will never be used again in any DC film. This did nothing for their careers, and they wasted an entire year of fuckery and bullshit only to end up with a 27% rating and people demanding that no more super hero films be made.

So yeah, they have regrets.

The movie was not bad because it was a PG-13 film, though it certainly did it no favors.

The movie was bad because the script was underwhelming, and the editing dyslexic. The tone of these movies alone continues to be the worst part about them, reminding me of an overly edgy 90's comic book with a big body count, but all prim and serious and without the Liefield-esc proportions and lack of feet.

The actors did great work, and should not get any of the blame for this film. It's entirely on the director/writer, editor, and execs.

Agreed. What worked the most with him was his erratic behavior- he was threatening and imposing but also super unpredictable. The scene with the guy in the club trying to deal with Joker and realizing he's pretty much dead was GOAT.

One place where Leto does sort of flounder is in being funny- Ledger actually had a few legitimately funny scenes, but Leto's too in control to allow for spontaneous comedy like that.
