I'd say Civil War II is worse. At least AvX had them fight in the first issue. Civil War II took 6 issues (FCBD and 0) to get the sides drawn out. It's one of the most phoned in events I have ever seen, and it seems like the last three issues will just be the final fight.

But Civil War 2 is whack. Civil War was personal. It affected all of the avengers. Civil War 2 is an internal spat between Captain marvel and Iron man, and as much as Marvel is pushing Carol, there is no reason to believe she's that important, but in any case, Civil War 2 is an internal spat between these two egos and there is zero reason to think the entire MU would be drawn into this. It is lazy and silly.

Not an absolute disaster that's making anyone panic immediately but it's underselling from their expectations given how it has a big name and a big writer tied to it, which given how meh the sales were during the last relaunch doesn't inspire much confidence especially when they're doing yet another relaunch after CWII. It seems to be a downward spiral for marvel's comic division.

The one good thing about Age of Ultron is that it retconned itself out of existence and had little to no effect on the rest of the ongoings at the time. Sure, there were a couple tie in issues, but then most of them went back to business as usual.
CWII is making everything shit, because everybody has to incorporate this stupid conflict and do damage control for Bendis' shitty characterizations.
