I think Toonami has come a long way from when it rebooted. New anime every quarter, the plug hasn't been pulled, AND continuation of old series to finish their story. Hopefully the trend continues.

Look man, my biggest hope for Toonami was to introduce a new generation of people to anime/movies and they have successfully done that, either through stoners/jobless/night owls/kids who watch the block. Now, is it perfect? No, they are missing a lot of the original magic. Not many real vidya reviews, not much music videos, no extending Tom storyline, not much in-house promos or events. Hell, the bumps are barely even edited together, but despite all of that, it's still the number one place to showcase anime, GOOD anime in some cases, to a wide range of people, besides netflix.

The rest of the people watching toonami are newcomers to anime and don't want to watch things that aren't as flashy and new looking, despite the fact that they might be missing out.

If it were up to me, One Piece would be getting the boot(I love the manga, but the anime is an abomination that just gets worse and worse as time goes on) and put on something like Darker than Black. You manime fags would eat that shit up.

Honestly I haven't followed the block since it came back(though I do care for its success) but I think Demarco's biggest problem is that he hasn't realized that the big threes' time is over and that its time to take them off the block.

You're right in that none of those three would work for, or be popular on, toonami. You can see and probably have seen all three of those shows at any time you'd like.

My thing is that I think they're wasting space on Naruto and One Piece, especially since Naruto gets more and more filler as time goes and, and One Piece gets so poorly paced it begins to make DBZ look like a master work of brevity.

Here's something I never understood. People wanted Toonami back after it was canned in 08. Ok great, there are people who still want to watch a handful of fairly recent series on TV. Toonami comes back as an ASA replacement, so obviously it has no money, but is still airing some new shows.

But there is still a big group of people who dug up the 4pm Toonami schedule the second it returned and demanded all those shows be on Toonami. We got DBZ and a Gundam, and people still aren't satisfied.

What I don't understand is, what is the point of this? Why do people insist on having Toonami back just to make it a clone of early Toonami? And there's no arguing people wanted a 1:1 clone, as evidenced by all the butthurt seen when DBZ didn't have the metal soundtrack.

What ratings were you looking at? The first official night of Toonami boosted the ratings for Bleach over 50%. The timeslots after got a huge boost too compared to ASA. Toonami was the final effort to save anime on AS and it knocked it out of the park on the first night.

I forget what was happening. One of the sailor girls was being used by her dad as an experiment, and the other sailor girls were killing her dad who i guess was evil scientist man.

He kept talking about an alien human hybrid so I guess he just wanted to bone whatever skimpy lady serves evil mc badguy man. It wasn't just the story though, it was the art and the direction and sort of everything. The story was probably the "best" part but I wasn't really enthralled with it over my very short viewing.

Thankfully she was cool and she laughed about it too, since I was sort of sitting there taking the piss out of her show.

Nothing against the characters, I got a pretty small snap shot of what they were like. It was more the art and just the general direction. The fight was...pretty hard to follow. I just didn't think the show was really that great.

Takeuchi is actually pretty modest about her work, actually.

She even admitted that she didn't like the manga very much numerous times in the republished books (though it could be a joke. I don't know), and that the OG anime executed/handled some of her storylines better than she originally did.
