Diana retreats from humanity, and any "victory" will be tainted by the even worse horrors that await in a few decades time. I'd admire them a lot if they can let it end on such a pessimistic note. Couple of things. Gadot doesn't seem good. Pine is never really good. That's bad. There's no none left to carry the movie.

And Wonder Woman seems very nerfed. Those trailers had her fighting on Batman's level. She has facing threats like soldiers with the same level of effectiveness as Batman. And she fought Doomsday. It really seems like they shoehorned some ww1 action to keep the budget down and it brings down the whole thing. Like a movie about Superman dealing with purse snatchers. I think the movie is set during WW1 because it was a more brutal, pointless war, and also to tie the movie in with the women's suffrage movement of the very early 20th century. Plus it's been a century since the Great War and countries are starting to commemorate it and stuff.
