Let me lay this shit down:

1: On a surface level there is totally the basis of a physical attraction. We know full well that Pearl likes big gals, and we know Pearl herself is thought to be quite pretty and fancy by Homeworld standards, and thus to someone like Jasper.
2: This is a very minor point, but it seems they both appreciate the actual "art" of combat to some degree, in a way the other gems we know do not.
3: Pearl's whole arc up to this point has been about learning her own self-worth- and for the most part that's been a success. However the biggest hurdle she still has is moving on from Rose. Being able to actually participate in a healthy relationship without feeling like she's betraying or replacing Rose would be a massive step.
4: The love Pearl held for Rose was near-worship, and if it was of questionable health when she was alive, it's unquestionably unhealthy now that's she's passed. The important distinction here is that Jaspearl would perfectly build on the character development we've already gotten with Pearl. She would stick up for herself- not be subservient as she was with Rose.
5: Jasper needs someone to call her out on her bullshit. Pearl needs someone to yell at who won't back down or get their widdle fweelings hurt at her occasional bossiness.
6: It would give a different flavor to both Jasper's redemption and her place among the group in comparison to the other Homeworld gem's respective redemptions.
7: For all Pearls development, she's still a worrier. Having someone as stubborn as Jasper be able to reassure her in times of distress would be good.
8: I like it.

Gem powerlevels (bear in mind this is just raw magical energy and training, environment, and special skills can all impact who would win in a fight) is SUPPOSED to be completely reflected in size, with gems choosing to making their maximum size their default size and maximum size being determined by how much magical energy their gems can constantly produce without operating at a loss.

Since Stevonnie is smaller than Garnet, they should be weaker. The PROBLEM with this theory is Steven doesn't operate on this logic. His maximum size would be Rose tier, but because of his half-gem nature his default form is constantly adjusted and based on how he feels, and. without preprogramming to make him feel any particular way, he defaults to growing like a human.

Stevonnie ends up drawing they're mind and power set entirely from Steven and Connie so they will NOT have a form reflective of their powerlevel.

Stevonnie however DOES appear to operate on the principal that fusions are always at least as large as the combined size of their components. This suggests that in terms of raw magical power, Connie is a straight upgrade proportional to a gem of her size fusing with Steven. Since Rose was already taller than Garnet in the first place, Steven is as strong as Rose (admittedly not as competent), and Connie is an upgrade on top of that. Stevonnie is stronger than Garnet.

Also, incidentally, Connie getting older works as a magical stat up for Stevonnie until she stops growing.

I would imagine, again assuming the singing nuke was a singing nuke, it's only understood to be weaponized by people who saw it being used in the first war. So Peridot wouldn't know what it is, since the singing bomb would only be used in the most extreme of circumstances to (again, presumably) corrupt gems en masse, which hasn't happened since the war.
