As a kid a really liked the one where shaggy turns into a werewolf and goes in a race. I don't remember the spin-off too well.

It is.

The whole gang lives in a single town, which was once a Spanish colony where conquistadors manages to seal away pieces of a gold artifact that contained an extra-dimensional evil being they found when they plundered an Aztec temple. Come to find out that for all of human history, extradimensional beings have been contacting our world by possessing animals, many of which were worshiped as gods: Quetzalcoatl, Anubis, Sun Goku, etc called Ananuki (like the Sumerian deities). Scooby Doo and other semi-talking animals are their distant descendants. The extradimensional entity wants to be freed so it fucks with peoples' minds forcing them to do weird shit, which attracts people to solve the "mystery", discover there's artifacts hidden around and free it. It also calls out to ancestors of the Ananuki, so the whole "gang of mystery solving teens with a talking animal sidekick" cliche is entirely intentional ploy on its part. In the end, it gets freed and kills everyone, but the Scooby Gang resets reality, after which they decide to leave the town on a cross country road trip which ends up being the lead in to the original Scooby Doo.

Also it has thirsty as fuck Velma, autistic Fred, implied lesbians, and awesome references including Jin-Roh/Red Spectacles, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Professor Layton, and all kinds of real world conspiracy stuff.

what about that new movie S.C,O,O,B or something like that. What was that supposed to be about? I think release date is 2018...

The fact that it was a lead it up to the original scooby doo is what eventually got to me, the have no family, no history they're just trying to keep other mystery teams from unleashing hell. I hadn't seen any scooby doo media in years but I watched it because anons kept hyping it, then I watched on zombie island after because the nostalgia hit and them growing apart being disenfranchised in that movie it was the worst feeling.

Mystery Incorporated is easily the best Scooby Doo series.

Yeah. The overarching plot is a fine change of pace, but the individual episodes are good as well.

I personally loved the rennaisance faire episode because I go to lots of them and people bitching about how pirates are taking over despite being way out of period is something you hear *all the time*.

I've always thought that the interpretation that it lead into the original Scooby-Doo was a good one but slightly off.

Harlan Ellison mentions that the reset had happened multiple times in the past and he's one of the few people who remembers the reset. Not to mention there's a ton of elements in the finale that don't sync with the original series.

This says to me that the reset doesn't put them in the beginning of the franchise but rather explains the franchise as a whole. It's why things are different from series to series and trying to place things into a single canonical timeline is a fool's errand.

The laugh track signifies that a following Scooby-Doo series will be more of a throwback. That's just the nature of Scooby-Doo. Every decade they blow up the original premise of the show and then do a back to basics approach that hews closer to the first series.

Anyway that's just my two cents.

Anybody seen the newest movie, the second WWE one where it's an offroad race with wrestlers and shit for some reason? It's really funny, especially since all the wrestlers still voice themselves. Undertaker is essentially a main character and he hams it up big time. The movie was also written and recorded before Dusty Rhodes died so it's likely the last new piece of media with him in it to be released.

This is a good analysis. Makes a lot of sense with that laugh track considering Be Cool is actually one of the closest to Where Are You of any series in a long time. Honestly, poor art style aside, Be Cool was a pretty fun show from what I've seen. Tried really hard to make Daphne an entertaining part of the cast.
