They all have their ups and downs. No one can answer this objectively, because there were always good shows and shit shows in every decade. I will say that my personal favorite always defaults to the 90s early 00s though.

Worst was 2000s. I grew up with that shit and it didn't measure up at all to the toons from the 90s. Anons complaining about CNs 2010 toons probably were born in 95 and were fed on trash like Camp Lazlo and My Gym Partner is a Monkey.

Ed, Edd and Eddy was a bright spot during that hell, as was Teen Titans and Ben 10.

90's: Playfully cynical and clever.
00's: Well structured meta humor.
10's: Solid story arcs and good character development.

At worst:
80's: Repetitive, mindless 30 minute commercials.
90's: Ugly cash grabs, embarrassing appeal to youth culture.
00's: Cheap and lazy Canadian garbage.
10's: Message heavy. Questionable morals.

2010 In all honesty has it the best because we have actual good adult and family cartoons. But I'm going to say the 90's had it the best because the guy who made this forgot the fact that two of the shows he put in the 2000's category started in the 90's.

I mostly agree with this and it seems pretty well thought out. There could be some discussion as to how aesthetics developed across the decades, how 80s to mid 90s cartoons had varying levels of Japanese influence from outsourcing how 90s cartoons had a lot of 60s nostalgia in their design from both Hanna Barbera and Warner Bros. The rough transitional period of mostly failed experimentation in the 2000s with digital ink and paint and the rise of CGI and fully digital operations. And how much of the animation from the 2010s is either aesthetically or structurally cribbed from the Simpsons.

I wouldn't be surprised if stylistic issues went on 20 or 25 year cycles of nostalgia.

Actually what I find the most interesting in that image are the apparent trends in colour pallets.
>80's is very stark with colourful character designs against dark backgrounds
>90's is warm with lot's of variations of yellow and reds

Worst: 80s (GI Joe and Ninja Turtles were legitimately good, Thundercats was okay, I like He-Man but that's because it reminds me of 80s WWF with how overpowered He-Man is. Pretty much everything else is trash even if the toys were cool.)

Best: 2010s (cartoons now have deepest lore and the shallow pop culture references that ran rampant in the 90s are contained to adult animated sitcoms.)

Cartoons meant for kids were cutesy bullshit like Disney but it isn't like Bugs Bunny was mature fare. It just meant it was full of pop culture references meant to entertain adults like most of the Termite Terrace cartoons.

Now MGM cartoons (specifically Tex Avery stuff,) that was stuff for adults.

I grew up watching and loving all of those shows as i'm sure most of you do, as long as you aren't a "muuh childhood" memer you learn to appreciate the nice things as well as the flaws of each era, for me it's tied between 1990 and 2010, 2000 is where i sorta grew out of tv because i didn't find a lot of stuff interesting
