Well if this comic is truly written by someone competent the resolution here will be that daisy simply put way too much stock in a friend who moved away and had tons of priorities. People forget, especially when their lives are hectic and full of obligations.

Too bad it isn't. You can kinda tell how this will go. Daisy will make a bigger deal out of Sandy not remembering much about her and take her "You've really grown" comment as Sandy calling her fat instead of the fact that Daisy actually grew up, being 16 and all by this point. And it'll be this way for the whole arc

Start reading from the earliest, pencil- drawn chapters. Those are when they do the fun adventure shit and get the most character development. The later pencil-drawn chapters and the start of the color artwork is when the real drama starts.

The drama is good for a long while, because of the stuff that happens and the earlier characterization really adds weight to what happens. However, the author has obviously run through most of the major plot developments and has been stretching time out a lot lately; I remember when she said the comic had about a year of content left before ending, except that was two years ago. If you ask me, it was great until a few chapters after Lucy left the story, with only about a third of the subsequent chapters having any real substance.

Despite the writing taking a big hit due to padding and filler, the art is great. Even if you dismiss it because of the style or "muh furries", the page layouts and facial expressions are fantastic.

Also, the author's husband is great at running the business side of things. He handles all the ad planning, online store stuff, and even came up with a reader loyalty program YEARS before Patreon came around. Even after it did, he cleverly leveraged it to supplement his existing system (draw streams where Patreons get priority requests).

There's something great about Mike suffering, probably because he's fairly unsympathetic.

Yeah Lucy was a huge bitch fairly often but Mike was just as bad if not worse in his own way and on top of that he has a huge case of victim complex.
