Why have most recent cartoons been using the almost the same coloring?
A)"Washed over"
B) 100% bright as fuck
A lot of shows feel homogeneous because nobody experiments with visual styles any more or have good animation to justify low-effort art.

Modern cartoons don't hire actual animators anymore. Also they have these "animators" pull double duty by having them write the episodes too which gives us turgid shit like the majority of SU episodes or Clarence.

That's some pretty great, more realistic looking animation, especially the water effects (assuimg he drew those, anyway), but I don't know if I'd call that surpassing Kahl... Then again, what is the old guy even grading the animators on? Fluidity? Keeping on model?
