Just reading Irredeemable for the first time. What is /co/'s opinion on it? Don't see it discussed that often.

it's not hopeless/10

It's alright, ending's a copout, most people like Incorruptible better.
That's pretty much what every post in threads about Irredeemable boils down to aside from contrarians and epic funny comedy gold bait.
I'm more interested in Grant Morrisons afterword than anything Waid would write.

The premise is interesting and the final end is kind of cute.
But it's too long.
Poor use of in medias res but overall an OK story.

It drags on and on.
I stopped reading right around the time Dr.Who (quibbit?) saved Plutonian's life from getting shot by the magic bullet. At that point the story seemed like it was being artificially extended and I gave up.
>And then the second most powerful dude also turned into an asshole! Oh no what will we do?
It started well, but around halfway through the plot started to meander a bit. Then the characters started to pull new powers out of their asses to move the plot along to the ending, which I considered to be a little insulting.
Still, the good parts were really good, and if the movie ends up being made I'll probably watch it.

I've read Irredeemable and like it but I've heard Incorruptible is worse.

Incorruptible was better.
It is edgy but not in the really bad misanthropic "super heroes would inevitably become mass murderers irl because humans deep down are shit" kind away. The reason the Plutonian goes nuts isn't so bad.

everyone has told me Incorruptible was the worst one
