You obviously didn't understand or finish PRJ if that's the only message you pulled from it. Plenty of legitimate criticizes of religion without pointing fingers at harmless practitioners of it.
>>
>>84814185
The christian militia group that's trying to murder anything for their inconsistent motivations you mean?
>>
>>84814050
>religion is for tards

But it is.
You don't actually need some invisible space wizard in the sky, to tell you to live by what is essentially logic and common household advice.
Tying it all together with an invisible space wizard just makes it easier for stupid people (ie. tards) to follow the basic rules of society.

Right, the people that use religion to justify violent behavior. We have them in real life as well. Lots of other factions are at play in the story. The main body guard character was religious. He was the model figure for religion in that, he didn't push his beliefs on anyone, he didn't extort religion for money ( the clone/ reality TV project), or let it rule his life.

>>84814314
You obviously didn't get the message either.
>>
>>84814356
WHY WASN'T THE STORY ABOUT HIM, HE WAS THE BETTER CHARACTER ANYWAY.

the only excuse is Jesus' Bodyguard isn't as flashy of a title

Control your Mad, I've never read PRJ.
As my quoting indicates, I'm just commenting on the "religion is for tards" remark.
>>
>>84814386
It focused on him quite a it, but yeah he was such a great character, it's a shame we won't get some solo adventures with him. Sean Murphy says that he would like to return to him in the deluxe edition backpages, because he is a character that he really loves.

>>84814393
Then maybe you should read it, might change your mind on things. Religion isn't inherently a negative, or destructive force, but it can be perverted that way by manipulative people.
>>
>>84814081
Yeah. The art's by Nestor Redondo. One of the best looking comics I've ever seen.
>>
>>84814420
>might change your mind on things
I'm not even remotely superstitious so it wont.

>Religion isn't inherently a negative
That kinda depends on what you consider to be part of Religion.
If it's set-in-stone rules that must be obeyed at all cost, no matter how silly or what the current tech level is, then there's hardly anything positive to it.

Random example: Muslims can't eat pig because religion.
~1400 years ago that kind of meat spoiled fast in the dessert climate so it made sense adding that rule to your new religion. But now the tech level is sufficiently advanced to avoid the spoiled meat yet they refuse to abolish the now pointless rule.

Don't know much about Punk rock Jesus. Is it true the story's genesis (heh) came from the creator getting swept out to sea and "realizing god wasn't going to help him" or something like that?

A side hobby that makes you a better person but doesn't cause you to do shit like trying shooting people or block gays from getting married is a pretty amazing thing.
>>
>>84819890

>block gays from getting married

You mean where they utilize a religious institution whose patron deity explicitly says their actions are an "abomination" to confirm before God and man that they are, in fact, going to buttfuck one another?

I'm starting to think this is a fetish, actually. Forcing churches to marry them so they can get off on giving the church's god the middle-finger.
>>
>>84819890
But you can be that better person without believing that a supernatural force wants you to be that. If you recognise that X, Y, Z qualities make you a better person then just do them regardless.

No tard, its because it was a custom to feed your pigs with the meat of your enemies.

Some people at the time started seeing pigs as impure because of it. If what you said was the case, there would be restrictions to other types of meat.

Good thing that has literally nothing to do with PRJ. It's only six issues just read it.

Saint Young Men is a good mango to read that's religious. Also was made into a movie.
>>
>>84815578
Yeah. He said in an interview that he was religious, but he was going into a trial period of atheism. A wave wrecked him while surfing during that time, and he used rationale and logic instead of prayer to save his life. So now he permanently tips fedora.

Abolish the various legal/economic privileges for married couples, then the faggots will be a lot less interested. As a bonus, this also helps separating church and state as it's supposed to be.

Since noone wants to sacrifice their own privileges just to deprive others of them, they could instead be moved to registered partnership and be available to everyone.

Always wondered about this one. I love Crumbs style but is this like him making up for his old raunchy stuff or does it still feel like a crumb work?
