I hope so. Seeing the two costumes side by side they actually look quite similar, but those wires are really not doing it for me. From what little we saw in the trailer it looked like his effects were going to be a cool blue/white which would be unfortunate because the red is already a well needed splash of color and some hot yellow to go with it would be magic, especially if the wires tied into that.

Neither look canon traditional, let's be honest.

Grant's just emphasizes how bad it looks on the show when he's standing still, especially how thin he is. He's not the kind of guy who should be wearing skinny jeans and tight fitting tees on dates.

Ezra's is just too much of a power ranger design and way too over done with all the bumps and ridges, like someone thought he need all those crevices for some sort of aerodynamic function. It's just a poor design overall, and the color pattern doesn't help.

But a costume isn't going to make or break my attitude or overall feeling about a show unless it's really BAD.

He's not very sarcastic. He's not cocky. He doesn't have the whole power of love thing going on. Maybe he's got a bit of the idol worship thing with all of his dads? But Wally's was specifically about superheroes so even that doesn't really fit.

I just don't see it. Wally's insecurities are different, his attitude is way different. He's also not as stupid.

I said it before, people confuse Barry's already lighthearted personality with Wally's because Barry.is.never.supposed.to.be.very.young.
He has always been an adult when he worked with JL. The one who was the youngest of the leaguers was Wally and he acted more childish because of it. People sometimes looked down on him for being a previous sidekick.
Picking actors who are baby face don't help either. Barry should be Ryan Gosling type of guy, even in the TV show Eddie looks and feels a lot more like Barry than actual Barry.

i can remember specific points where he sarcastically argues with villains, too, but it's not as frequent as wally (the fact that it's there is the point, though)

in the second episode he was cocky, after he somewhat got a handle of his powers. he was seen charging from place to place solving crime and laughing about it before his hunger kicked in (another wally trait but it has nothing to do with his personality so that's unimportant)

power of love, well, i dunno about that, but love certainly motivates him at times

and the idol worship is there too, just because wally idollized a superhero father figure instead of a regular one doesn't change anything, but again, that has nothing to do with his personality so it's unimportant

Literally no one in the JL looked down on Wally. They were always gushing about how impressed they were of him and how he'd have made Barry proud.

The most they ever do is talk over him/act with more authority than him, but even then there's just as many times where they browbeat his opinion out of him as an equal like in Tower of Babel or Trial by Fire.

No one ever gave Wally shit for being a grown up side kick in the JL.

Wally idolized all superheroes. It comes up a lot in JL and whenever he crosses over with other superheroes in his own comics.

Barry's got an insecurity issue and a lack of emotional maturity that leads to him latching onto father figures. Wally never had a problem with insecurity. As a matter of fact, he spent a lot of his time holding himself back because he didn't want to make Barry look inferior.

Barry would also do some quippy dialogue with villains in his runs, too. I mean, Silver Age was known for its heavy narration. He's not sarcastic in the show, though. Atleast not more than your typical person. Barry's not the class clown -- Cisco is.

I'll give you that Barry might have a little cockiness in the show. That was probably my weakest point, but even then comics Barry was and is certainly confident. It's a blurry line, admittedly.
