There is no reason to Superman have this much muscle.

That looks like body paint, while only the trunks and cape are actual fabric. Is Superman a male stripper in this book?
>>84780268
But hes literally just a muscle man
>>84780338
but he is in a world of papers
There isn't any method he can gain muscle due to his limitless power
>>84780338
His strength comes from the sun, nothing to do with his fitness.
A fat lazy slob Superman would be just as strong.
>>84780268
There's no reason for him not to.
OTOH, someone like Booster Gold should be in decent to good shape as a former athlete - even if it was a few years past his actual 'career' as that, but he didn't need ripped abs, etc. given a ring gave him his flight and the force shield and gauntlets gave him his defensive and offensive powers.
Batman can exercise all his wants as Batfleck did for the movie, but it's a bit absurd for someone to be that bulky (any of the bats/robins) when they are doing all that supposed grappling and acrobatic moves. Bale had a better/more appropriate body (muscled, good shape, but not the sheer bulk Afleck put on).
Likewise, someone like John Stewart or Hal Jordan could easily be average build, say a Ryan Reynolds in his Van Wilder days, not the way he bulked up for Blade, etc.

Yeah. Flashpoint Superman was deprived of it and was a scraggly mess. I remember in Lois and Clark when he would eat a lot of junk and people were surprised how he could and be fit.
Not sure if it's still canon but John Byrne had his physique be a side effect of his powers. When under a yellow sun all kryptonians turn into greek gods, hence why he looks like Hercules but without a beard, and Supergirl and Powergirl are pants ruining semen demons. Might also have to do with kryptonians being masters of genetic manipulation.

Can't self-insert well enough? When he's this ripped?
The man has the power of a fucking God, there's all the reason for him to have this much muscle.
>>84780268
He looks way too lean there regardless. Supes is usually large and bulky.
>>84780268
Sunlight gave him abs.
>>84780268
This is actually the smallest ibe seen him portrayed without being sundeprived in a long time. Normally they go with the, built like a tank for his design. Because it mirrors the Clark is a fat slob when he just slouches all the time.
>>84780268
In fact, he needs to be even bigger.
>>84780878
>>84783602
>6'3/190
>225lbs
What does that realistically look like?
>>84780735
>Clark is LITERALLY eating PIZZA whilst Bruce is SLAVING away in the gym with his PERFECT diet.

Made me kek

An Example
Cena's 6'1 and weighs 210 to 220 pounds
>>84783920
>6'3"
>225lbs
The general rule of thumb for a muscular physique is start at 200lb at 6' and at 10lb for every inch, so Superman would probably need to gain more mass to look like the adnois he's drawn as in the comics.
>>84780268
Why shouldn't he?
Kryptonians are plants.
Have you ever seen a plant with less than 10% bodyfat?
Supes body has no natural fat and therefore all the muscles are shown.
If anything he should not have that strong circus weightlifting body but instead a thin "bro-do-you-even-lift" appearance with no fat on his body
>>84782876
Given he's hanging out with the Legion, it's probably meant to be Superboy. Most cape artists just can't into drawing children
>>84786956
He was kinda lanky in the first season of LoSH.
Real talk, how accurate is any weight given considering that he sneers at gravity every single day? If the scale reads 225 it's cause he decides, somehow, that that's the number he wants to see. The dude has a pair of air compressors where we have lungs. He could be carrying an extra dozen pounds of condensed exhale for all we know.
We know roughly what humans weight for any given size cause human muscles and bones are generally a known quantity even if we don't quantify it very often. We're intimately familiar with what it is to be human.
Superman isn't human.
