i only got myself to blame for this, while Aaron specifically said that the arc was not meant to redeem her or make us feel better about her, i still approached the whole thing as if it was supposed to redeem her in some way, that i was supposed somehow to forgive her and feel sorry for her for everything she went trough... instead, what i got was a person who made incredibly dumb decisions while completely ignoring her fiance, she didn't really deserved anything that happened and realistically it could not have been helped to certain extent but her real personality post WWIII, leaves a lot to be desired.

Also, i have to be clear, i don't mean i fucking hate her now, i just don't love her unconditionally as i used to do, that's all.

So I wonder if Aaron's "A Week to go" response to Three Steps Whatever on GoComics was perhaps indicative of the time the war *should* have started... and this, in turn, shows that either something is up with Holly's memories or that this isn't the universe we're used to.

I've been wondering if the sudden appearance of things Holly couldn't possibly have seen signifies that Wally and Co. are observing naked reality now... like the portal thing on the ship dropped them into another of those time-shifted realities, gave them a ditto-based orientation to catch them up, and around the time of Holly and Doc's arrival at the sewers, just dropped them into the midst of it with no more ditto interference.

Progress on a not-Undertale C++ game...

Slow and steady. I've been running into an issue with the HUD, being that the heartbeat sensor won't animate, so I'm taking a step back to work on other aspects. I'm sure it's just a slight change to get it working as intended.

I've been fooling around more with the Tiled tool. It's what I use to draw up the maps in XML. The screens some of you have seen before were of the "Orthogonal" orientation whereas the one in this image is the "Isometric" orientation. I'm currently liking the latter as it's easier to show objects and tiles behind another. So cool.

I have plans to work on the turn-based battle system so I have something to actually show instead of neat sprites and tiles that Suule made. Think squad-based stuff here, except you don't always have control over your squad.

Besides that? Well, I've been rethinking the original progression of the game. Having a game based on Endtown where you only get a glimpse of it before you are thrown to the Wastes seems kinda bullshit. So here's an idea to mull over:

>picked up by a scavenging team
>navigate Endtown on a day-to-day basis
>necessities such as job duties are automated
>occasionally assigned to scavenge for supplies with a team
>top-down map of the Great Wastes ala original Fallout and Mount & Blade
>zoomed in to squad-based tactics for combat and other events
>converse with team who you can talk with back at Endtown
>prove yourself competent and you'll be assigned special missions

Sounds good or boring?

Prediction: Holly's going to get in as one of the first because she's with their one doctor.

They won't be able to get all the rest of them down there in time. Yet another thing Holly's going to have to live with is the idea that someone else died while she lived even though she didn't have anything near as much to contribute as her "ticket to safety", Doc, did.

So what caused all the mutation and stuff? I read what happened a long time ago but I forgot what happened.

That's what i meant. Limited by design because you'll be forced to either add a hundred sprites for every animal people may want to play with, AKA "Make your fursona", or limit it by a dozen or so.

In arcanum you could choose your origin and at the start of the game there was some reason you were in that place in each origin. Each one basically boiled down to having some skills and a story where you wash up and this is your life now.

Origins I imagine would be:

Hmmm... I don't *think* so, since the destination universe is simply a step behind events in your home 'verse, and nothing you do there would have temporal effects once you returned. Plus to get there you travel through the space between universes (call it the fifth dimension for convenience) as you would to get to any other alternate universe, rather than travelling through the fourth dimension of time. Up for debate, though.
